A Second Chance

Mel made a small surprised sound into Danny's mouth, then made a small purr of delight. Adjusting her position, she spread her legs and straddled his body, running her hands over his chest and sides.

Her sensitive sex was still quivering with aftershocks as he thrust up against her. Panting, she slipped back, placing her hands on his chest and raising a little. Her hair was wild, framing her face and shoulders. Her full soft breasts bouncing gently with each movement.

She smiled down at him, licking her lips. "You feel good too! So good!" She gasped and ground her hips against his, using her thighs to raise herself up and slip back down on his length.

Daniel

In this position Daniel could relax a little and calm his breath down, although his heart hammered hard in his chest. Seeing Mel move over him, a film of sweat making her body shiny and sexy, was very exciting, her wet hair clinging to her face, her breasts swaying in the rhythm of her rocking on his penis, gasps and moans escaping her lips... All these were exciting him even more, his cock unbelievably hard inside her, the whole length coated in her glistening with Mel's love juices. He was terribly senstitive to her touch, her scent, the sounds she was making as she was riding him with long strokes.

"Oh yes, Mel, yes. Just like that..." he groaned his appreciation and slid his hands up her thighs to her breasts, squeezing the soft globes in his palms and flicking the nipples with his thumbs.

He felt that hot wave flow through him again and he managed to hold Mel up, slipping out from her and moaning in frustration as cool air enveloped his burning manhood and his second orgasm jerked his body, semen spurting in an arc and landing on his stomach... Then he fell back and Mel collapsed next to him, both panting but sated and happy, tired but fulfilled. Something new born betwen them.

Hot and slick they lay joined together, their cum and sweat mingling between them, both of them not caring. Mel felt too lethargic to move and Danny didn't seem to mind as she snuggled against his body. She suddenly felt spent...her eyes heavy and as her breathing evened out.

She felt Danny shift and turn, bringing them together to their sides, facing each other. One of his legs swung up and trapped her close to his body. She sighed deeply and snuggled against his chest.

One soft kiss later and she was fast asleep, feeling renewed and filled with hope and love.

Daniel

Daniel woke up around 8 AM and when he opened his eyes he saw Mel's peaceful, sleeping face next to him. He kissed her nose and slowly slipped out of bed without waking her and covered her with sheets. Quietly he left the the room and went to his own, going straight to the bathroom to take a shower to wash away sweat, sleep and his and Mel's fluids. It was already too late for his run so he approached the sink to shave but stopped when he looked in the mirror. He looked different, he thought, something had changed but he couldn't quite pinpoint it. Was it something in the eyes or in the mouth, still a bit swollen after Mel's passionate nibbles.

Trying to find the change he shaved and the shrugged. Putting on some casual clothes Danny realised that his life had taken a radical turn, he knew in his heart that what had happened between him and Mel wasn't just a casual romance, a fling but, for him at least, something more important. Melissa wasn't just Michael's wife or widow anymore, she was a woman he cared for and wanted to be around with and protect. He also wanted her carnally and after last night when she showed him also how much she wanted him, he was sure he could be happy with her.

Sighing and humming to himself Dan went to the kitchen to prepare a royal breakfast.

Mel stretched and yawned, cracking her eyes open against the brightness of the room. Feeling a pang of disappointment that she was no longer wrapped in Daniel's arms. Still, she felt warm and...sticky, but happy. Reaching up, she gently poked her cheek and smiled when it didn't hurt as badly. Perhaps sex was the cure. She blushed at the thought...last night had been so intense and wonderful. Her body was still humming.

Sliding out of bed, she grabbed the nearest article of clothing, which happened to be Daniel's shirt and shrugged it on. She could hear him in the kitchen, more than likely making breakfast from the delicious smells coming from that room. Her stomach cramped, but she ignored the hunger pain and went through her morning routine of showering. She carefully brushed her teeth, applied lotion to her still damp skin and examined her still slightly puffy face. The bruise was uglier today, but would fade. Her lip was swollen from Danny's kisses, but it only made her smile. It was almost too good to be true...she wanted to pinch herself and prayed that nothing would dampen their new found connection.

Grabbing a pair of casual shorts, she slipped them on over a pair of pale blue panties and kept Danny's shirt on. His scent was comforting.

Slowly she padded out to the kitchen and peaked inside where she found him poring juice. "Morning..."

Daniel

Daniel raised his eyes from the glass and put it away on the table next to the plate he set out for Mel.

"Good morning," he answered, his features lighting up.

Smiling he approached her and kissed her gently, trying not to irritate her hurt lip. Embracing and hugging her he lead her to the table and served all the stuff he had prepared: eggs, bacon, toasts, etc. all cut into small pieces to be easily put in her mouth without having to use her lip.

"I hope you like all this... I guess this is the top of my culinary skill."

Mel was touched at Daniel's thoughtful gesture, seeing that he had taken care to cut up her food and everything. Just that simple little gesture warmed her heart. She smiled softly and sat, "No no...I believe apple pie is what you're best at...this is wonderful though...now if you made apple pie, I'd be yours forever." She teased and giggled, digging into her food with a wink.

"So what are the plans for today?" She asked him, sipping carefully on some juice as she watched him watch her, his face looking brighter and cheerier than usual.

Daniel

Biting on a toast and sipping juice Daniel thought about her question. The day wasn't looking to be very promising with clouds gathering under the sky -- there could be rain later or a storm even but for the moment there was no wind that usually promised the arrival of heavy rains and lightnings. Spreading jam on another toast and putting it away Dan spoke, "I don't know, really. I wasn't thinking beyond yesterday and with the Saturday today an all... we might go to the movies or just stay indoors. No weather for the picnic..."

Munching on a strip of bacon his face brightened. "I can make you an apple pie," he said with a wink. "But we'll need to do some shopping. We're almost out of everything."

Mel ate her eggs and chewed on some bacon carefully. "Well, staying in sounds good to me...I'm still a bit sore, but I wouldn't mind doing shopping. I just don't want to do much else...maybe we could rent some movies and veg on the couch together with a big bowl of popcorn." She suggested.

"Of course...you'll have to make me the pie first because I'm not going to let you forget." She giggled and drained her juice glass, hissing softly when it stung her still fairly fresh cut on her lip.

Daniel

"Yeah yeah, okay, whatever. Make me your cooking slave," Danny teased and leaned back, streching his legs and stroking Mel's foot with his own. Then he pured himself some coffee and sat watching Mel eat with a happy smile on his lips.

When she was done he picked the dishes up and cleaned them and put in the dishwasher. He cauhgt up with her in the hall and embraced Melissa from behind, kissing her neck and hugging her tighter. "And you remember that when I make you that pie you'll be mine," he growled.

Happy and full, Mel let Danny take care of the dishes and was about to go and get something more suitable to wear out to the store when Danny surprised her from behind. She gasped and giggled, not being able to stop the smile the spread over her lips when he kissed her neck and growled seductively against her skin.

"And you remember that when I make you that pie you'll be mine."

She shivered, her nipples bare under his shirt instantly hardened and wetness dampened her fresh panties. "I wouldn't never back out on a promise." She murmured, her voice a soft pur. Pushing back against his body, she wiggled her bottom against his crotch and was rewarded with another little sound of pleasure, his embrace tightening.

She sighed and tilted her head back against his shoulder, looking up at his face and feeling the soft puff of his breath against her cheek, smelling slightly of coffee. "I'll be yours until you don't want me anymore." She teased softly and nipped at his jaw line.

Daniel

"Well, I intend to take advantage of that promise," Daniel murmured and kissed Mel's cheek, running his hand up her body, rushing her breasts and then pushing her away a little to smack her bottom playfully. "Guess some cleaning up is in order so why don't we do that and then visit the store, hmm?" he proposed holding Mel by the waist and looking her in the eyes.

Dan wanted to kiss her but noticed that her lip looked a little worse than yesterday so he kissed the corner of her mouth. "Does it hurt?"

She smiled softly and gave his flat belly a playful rub, "Yeah...I think we need to change our sheets." She said with a little laugh and enjoyed his soft kiss, nodded at his questoin. "Yes...only when I eat, drink, smile, laugh and kiss you, but other than that..." She trailed off with a playful laugh.

"I'll be OK...I guess I need to be more careful with it today. I want it to go away..." She said with a sigh and then wiggled out of his hold. "Give me a minute to change and we'll get the day started."

Daniel

Smiling, Daniel nodded and watched Melissa go into her bedroom to change. Meanwhile he opened the windows in the living room to air the interior a bit and assembled the vacuum cleaner to clean the carpets everywhere. He also played some music to cheer this tedious task and proceeded to hum to himself while cleaning. Done with this he took a duster and a wet cloth and wiped the shelves and tops and the table from dust, cleaned the wardrobe doors and continued his task in the kitchen, slowly making it look shinier. It was a nice change from the dull weather outside. Mel joined him, apparently done with her room.

"Move it, slowpoke!" she joked and helped him get on with the work.

Then together they took care of Dan's room and when the whole house was done with, plopped in the living room, embraced on the sofa and sipping lemonade.

"Phew... I'm beat," he muttered.

Mel sipped on her lemonade through a straw and smiled, having popped a pain pill to help ease her soreness. Hoping that it wouldn't make her too sleepy...she didn't want to pass out today...not after last night and the fun she was having spending with Daniel. She wondered how he felt, what he was thinking, where this was going to lead to.

"I'm pretty tired too...but we still have groceries to fetch...then we can take a break." She said with a chuckle when he groaned. She watched him drain his glass of lemonade, watching him swallow deeply and found the act strangely arousing. When he set his glass aside, his lips were wet and shiny and she just couldn't resists leaning over to kiss them. "Mmmm...you taste of lemons." She murmured softly and then kissed his nose and sat back, blushing slightly.

She wondered if he could see the way her heart pounded hard against her chest, her pulse fluttering. His gaze held hers and his hand snuck around to cuddle her close. She sighed and rested her head against his chest, listening to his own rapid heart beat and secretly smiled. "Think you're about ready to go?"

Daniel

"Yes. Just let me change and we can go if you're feeling okay," Dan said, gave her a quick kiss and went to his room where he changed into clothes that were a bit more presentable. Lacing his shoes he thought how much had changed over the last few weeks. He was living with a woman now who no longer was just Michael's wife or widow but became someone dear to him and it felt like he had been already living here for a few months and not just few weeks. He'd grown accustomed to Mel's presence around him and each morning he was actually looking forward to seeing her around the house, having breakfast with her and generally spending time.

Sighing contentedly he exited the room and found Mel waiting in the hall, looking outside through the door. The weather was getting nastier. "Are you ready, Mel?" he asked approaching her and holding her by the waist, peeking outside, pressing his cheek to her ear. "Perhaps you would rather stay?"

Mel turned her head slightly and rubbed her cheek against Daniel's with a smile, "No...I'd rather go with you." She murmured and stepped away from the door. "Let me get a coat just in case it starts to rain." She said, giving Danny's hands a squeeze as he let go of her hips and moved to the coat closet.

Fishing around, she finally located a light windbreaker that she knew was waterproof and hung it over her arm, grabbing her purse. "Ready!" She beamed and let Danny lead her out. Together they strolled out, the wind picking up a bit and whipping her hair around before they reached the car.

Sitting in the passenger seat, she buckled up and watched as Danny slid in easily and gunned the car, warming the engine up as he buckled up himself and slanted her a sexy smile. She felt her stomach quiver and smiled back at him. It felt so right...so good to be with someone again. She never imagined she'd find someone else after Michael and never dreamed it to be Danny and yet there he was. Her guardian, the one who helped lift her up, gave her new hope and new love.

Staring out the window as he began to drive out to the store, she felt herself blinking back fresh tears and thanking Michael in her mind. He must have known...somehow...he must have known it would work out.

A sudden ringing made her jump and she gave Danny a startled look, then fumbled with the glove box. There was her emergency phone, lit up and vibrating slightly on the hard surface. It was still ringing when she picked it up and glanced at the number. "It's your Mom." She murmured, glancing at him, but not answering.

Daniel

A little shocked and startled Daniel looked at the cell phone in Melissa's hand. What the hell could his mather want from her?! Why would she be calling now? And on the cell and not the regular number... What was so urgent?

"Well, why don't you answer it and see what she wants?"

Mel nodded, looking a bit apprehensive and pressed the receive button. "Hello?" she spoke to the receiver and then remained silent for a moment. "Hold on. She wants to speak with you."

"What for? It can't be that urgent! I'm driving now. Put in on loudspeak, will you?" Dan asked and looked at the phone as if it were a poisonous snake. "Hello?"

"Daniel? What is it that I'm hearing, boy? You're out of the army and not even a call home? You go straight to Melissa and live at her place?"

"Mom... this isn't..."

"And what was that about Lance? He told me you are treating him badly, berate him and call him names. What's that supposed to mean?"

"Aw, mom! Is that why you're calling? To tell me off for picking on your favourite little Lancey? I don't have to listen to that and I don't have to explain anything. I am adult now and so is he. If I'm doing that it means I have my reasons, period."

"Come home, son. We're missing you. We haven't seen you ever since... Why don't you two come to dinner tonight? We can sit and talk like a real family."

"Thanks, I'm making a pie tonight and... we'll be busy with... things..." Danny blushed, recalling his and Mel's night activities. "Not today."

"Then tomorrow. It's Sunday. We could sit down together like a family that we are. Sit and talk and..."

"Mom..."

"I won't take no for an answer, Danny. I want you two at dinner here tomorrow. I'll make your favourite dish."

"Mom!"

"And then we'll sit at tea and you'll tell us all..."

"Mom, the battery's failing. Gotta go. Bye!" he pressed a button and broke the line. "Jesus!"

Mel's lips twitched a little in amusement over Daniel's obvious frustration with his mother. "I guess someone went to cry to mama huh?" She said softly, taking the phone and slipping it back in it's rightful place. "Are we going?"

Daniel sighed and grumbled, turning off onto one of the main roads that took them straight to the store. "I don't know..."

Mel smiled and slipped a hand over his thigh, gently rubbing him from knee to mid thigh. His leg stiffened, then relaxed. Leaning over to him, she pressed a kiss against his shoulder. "It might be best...we can't avoid them forever, you know. And...we don't have to tell them about...us...this..."

Her hand paused about mid thigh as she studied his profile. "Not yet anyway...we don't have them going off the deep end..."

Daniel

"I'm not particularly enthusiastic about this but I guess at least I should go or later I will be reminded over and over again that I rejected an invitation. God! I'm no momma's boy to be constantly hugged and kissed and having my hair ruffled. I bet she's using the dinner as an excuse to something... I wish I knew what and I hope it has nothing to do with that shithead. Damn, I hope he won't be there... But you don't have to go if you don't want to."

Daniel sighed and slowing down to turn to the parking lot covered Mel's hand on his thigh with his. "It's fine. We'll just tackle those questions when they arise." Having stopped the car he leaned over and kissed her cheek. "Come on. Let's spend some cash on things that are good and fattening."

Mel gave him a quick kiss back and got out of the car. Linking her hand with his, fingers twined, they walked into the store, only separating to be able to grab a shopping cart. "I'll probably come...I don't want to seem rude just because Michael is no longer with us. I always got along well enough with your folks and your brother...so I see no point in sulking in the shadows. Although they were pesky when I ddn't want company."

She chuckled lightly as they pulled into a food isle, watching Daniel load up on various things. She picked out a few of her favorites here and there, but nothing over the top. Just enjoying their time together. "Think I should bring something? You know...chocolates or flowers or something...?"

Daniel

"God forbid!" Dan replied with mock horror as he was checking the popcorn bags. "Mom might like it and then we'd be spending each Sunday over there. No way, I've had it with kissy, touchy, feely, my-you've-grown-up-so. Brrrr," he shivered. "We'll be better off paying this one visit and making the world forget about us if we ever want to have some freedom. Mom can be so pesky sometimes, forgetting that we're no longer small kids holding on to her skirts."

Dan drew Mel closer and kissed her lightly, enjoying the warm feeling spreading over him when their bodies touched. Yes, definitely, this was what he wanted, what he sought. But... could this really be?

He stepped away with a smile and pushed the cart, heading for the sweets area.

Mel walked by his side, smiling all the while. She was feeling happy and lighthearted, her cheek not hurting so much, even if her lip did. It was obvious that Danny didn't like to be babied...he wasn't a mommy's boy like Lance really was and Michael had been somewhere in between. Both guarding their privacy and bowing to please her from time to time. It always amused her that such big men could go running to mommy when she called them. Danny wasn't so swayed.

She groaned when Danny turned down the sweets isle. "you're going to kill me...don't buy this stuff, it's bad for us. You'll make me all round." She teased and giggled when he picked up a big bag of chocolates and threw it into the cart with a grin and wink.

She looped her arm around his and lay her head on his shoulder, "You're not listening." She grumbled playfully.

Daniel

Daniel dumped a bag of sweets into the cart and grinned. "You were saying?" he muttered in her hair, kissing her head and pushed the cart forward towards the register area. He was fairly sure that they took everything needed and just in case skimmed the list in his head to see if everything was there, especially the ingredients for the cake he was to prepare this afternoon.

On the whole he disliked shopping, walking in the aisles, banging his cart on another people's, searching for the right thing among the plethrora of other goods. He always preferred going to a local grocery and buy what he needed at a slightly higher price than in a department store where it was way too easy to get lost. With Mel at his side however the whole chore turned ok, pleasant even with their mutual teasing and her warm presence at his side. It was a completely different thing and he was grateful for the feeling immensly, feeling a changed man.

"I think we're okay so we can finally go back home... Or do we need something else?"

"Actually, I need some more body wash for the shower and shampoo. We can just skirt right on over there real fast." She paused, looking at the filling lines at the registers and then changed her mind, "On second though...you stay in line here and I'll go and get what we need. I won't be a minute and that way we won't loose our spot."

Daniel nodded in agreement...she was sure that he didn't want to stand in line all morning. She hated this part of shopping. Giving him a quick kiss on the cheek, she briskly walked away and vanished around a corner that was the 'beauty section'.

Trying to make quick picks, she selected her usual shampoo, conditioner and then spun around to get some body wash. Cutting through another isle to make her trip shorter, she suddenly paused and found herself blushing like a little teenage girl. Condoms. The thought hit her hard...pregnancy! Danny wasn't sterile like Michael and she wasn't protected.

The bottle of bottle wash slipped from her hands and clattered to the floor. She fumbled with the rest and quickly picked up, avoided the odd look she got from another lady. There were so many colorful boxes...some big, some small, ribbed, lubricated, colored, flavored...the flush to her cheeks go brighter. She'd never had to think about this before...crap. Should she? What would Danny think? He'd think she was being responsible. She told herself...he probably wasn't ready to be a daddy just yet.

With a slight trembling hand, she grabbed the first package at hand, clutched it tight and returned as fast as she could to Danny in line.
