80MB of useless corrupted data which took 16 hours to download. Life sucks.

On the other hand, I found out I had 200MB of data I can delete in my temporary internet files.

How about Window/temp? Can I delete any stuff in there? I deleted some which I was sure safe. I had to log-in to Lit and all. What about those weird named file holders? Can I delete them too? There are a couple of uninstall icons there as well.

You can delete anything in the temp folder.

As far as Gator corrupting data, that's not what it does. Gator is just an ad program that runs in the background. It helps to pay for the program it comes attached with. It can also send back information about what sites you visit, and what kind of files you download. But it doesn't corrupt files.

Personally, I would recommend that you pick up a copy of Norton's Systemworks. It can fix so many problems that you may be having, and make your system purr like a kitten.

I've just went to Windows file file folder looking for system32. I can't find it, but found the stuff I never use. Most of them, I haven't seen before. They are taking up 80MB. LOL

If you use the wrong version, it can certainly happen. But if you maintain your computer right, and have a freshly formatted HD and reinstalled Windows, Norton's is a big help.

But anyways, I wish you luck with your PC. You seem to have it under control.
