Yesterday was sentencing day for the jackass who diluted chemotherapy drugs because of his greed. I am glad the judge gave him the maximum allowable sentence.

KANSAS CITY, Missouri (CNN) -- A federal judge Thursday sentenced former pharmacist Robert Courtney to the maximum sentence of 30 years in prison without parole for tampering with the cancer drugs of an estimated 4,200 patients.
Judge Ortrie Smith also ordered Courtney to pay restitution of nearly $10.5 million to his victims, plus a fine of $25,000, a spokesman for the U.S. Attorney's Office said.
Courtney, 50, pleaded guilty earlier this year to 20 felony criminal charges related to the dispensing of diluted chemotherapy drugs.
_________
He later admitted that he had been doing this since 1992.
I can almost understand when someone scams people out of money for jewelry or an item of clothing. I am used to news stories where con artists take advantage of consumers. But this is beyond the pale.
What would possess someone to endanger people's lives? Especially someone who has taken the time to complete an exhaustive course of study. Furthermore, someone in a profession that exists to alleviate pain and suffering by assisting health care professionals?
