I don't think so. Dangerous prisoners are chained and shackled, in transit, on a regular basis to protect their guards from harm. What's the protest here, especially after the problems they had in confining Talibn prisoners in Afghanistan? And what's the problem with their living conditions in Cuba?? It's certainly no worse than Supermax in Marion,IL.

I bet that there will be complaints that the prisoners have women guards and are being treated by women doctors.Puleeze!!! It seems like poitical correctness has gone mad.

I now return you to our regular programming.

This isn't about mistreatment but politics. Some group of people who are looking to be on TV and like the thought of being anti government are using this as an excuse to get some free press. A Cuban prison camp has to look like the Embassy Suites as compared to anything that those soilders have experienced in Afghanistan. Do these protesters pretend to think that the conditions over there are worse than a military prison? Hell, a days worth of bread and water would probably be better than standard rations given out by the Taliban.

POW's? Not in my book. Geneva Convention? I don't think the rules apply here. Most of those interned were not fighting for a country they were fighting for a terrorist group. Most of them are not even Afgans, but, citizens of Saudi Arabia, Yemen, the Phillipines and other countries. They should be treated as terrorists or international criminals, not as POW's.

President Bush himself described recent military actions that resulted in the capture of such prisoners as part of the "war on terrorism". Therefore, I am of the opinion that any prisoners captured under this declaration are, in fact, prisoners of war and therefore fall under the relevant auspices of the Geneva Convention.

Either it's a war, or it's not.

The Geneva Convention Articles of war were designed to protect uniformed military forces fighting for their specific countries. Not radicals, terrorists or common criminals. Therefore the rules do not apply.

My self they should have lined them up in the streets and shot them that would have saved a lot of money.
