A short question for women who work or have worked in an office where you dress up a little bit for work, such as wearing a suit or a dress.
When you are getting ready in the morning, do you generally put on your make up then get dressed, or dress first and then make up? It's a small detail but it's driving me nuts.

Makeup was the last thing I did. But that's me. I also don't use much, eye shadow, lipstick is about as much as I use.

Make up would be last, like, still putting it on in the car last. (Don't tell my wife I said that).

Thank you, everyone who responded. Like I said, it is a very minor sequence in the story, but the thought of getting it wrong was driving me nuts.

That's some striking footwear. Your place of work obviously has a more interesting dress code than mine does.
Not actually mine. Though I probably could wear them to the office, with a dress and jacket. Any outfit is smart with a jacket, innit.

Mostly I work from home, where my personal dress code is to wear clothes on my bottom half. One colleague didn't, back when Teams was still new, and didn't notice her laptop started to close, meaning the camera showing off her very skimpy undies. It was a big event, about 80 people dialling in, and at least 40 of them sent her private messages to point out the issue...

My ex-wife rarely wore make-up at all, even when she had office jobs. Later, when she was a lawyer, she got a bit more diligent about it, especially when she had to go to court.
