A Quick Introduction

I don't know if you have the thread equivalent in the AH of a newcomer's introduction thread, but I didn't see any, so I've taken the liberty of creating my own. Hi, my name is TheOlderGuy. I'm a writer. I haven't stopped writing in, oh, about fifty years.

"Hi, OlderGuy."

Obviously, I'm not really a newbie. I just haven't ever hung around this forum, so must of you won't have a clue who I am. But when Lit redesigned, and "New Posts" became a feature on the toolbar, I, little by little, became aware that some of the more serious writers on Lit, do in fact congregate here.

Not only that but I've noticed over a long period of time that you don't seem to eat your young here. In the GB, anything anyone says is immediately pounced upon, and the author is pounded into submission, or death, whichever comes first. Here, boring as it may seem, you actually discuss things, interesting things. Even political threads here evolve into a thoughtful analysis of the subject. Page Three in the AH does not become an endlessly escalating series of insults hurled from both sides.

I like that. So, "Hello." I hope to have more to say soon.
