A quick health update

Well, it's been a week since my last chemo treatment. As with the first one, I felt pretty good for the first few days.

No major side effects, just one annoying one. I appear to have become hyper sensitive to cold in my hands and mouth. I found this one out by grabbing a popsicle out of the freezer and nearly dropping it. It felt like my fingers were getting shocked. It was very disconcerting. Not to be discouraged, I grabbed the wooden stick and shoved it into my mouth and got the same feeling across my tongue that you get when testing 9V batteries by touching your tongue to the battery terminals. So now one of my guilty pleasures is off limits. Well, actually two, for the US based readers you will know about DQ slushies. They are basically sweet flavored syrup mixed with ground up ice & water. I had to wait for it to melt and come to room temperature before I could drink one. :(:(:(:(

The pattern is starting to emerge that Sunday night after chemo I run a fever and can't sleep so I am worthless at work on Monday. Hopefully that will get better as I get stronger.

Hopefully, I can get back to writing, but for now, I work until 2pm, go grab a bite to eat and then have to lay down until the early evening. I am seriously hoping that my oncologist is right and things will get better with a few more treatments under my belt.

Speaking of belts, I had to go buy new belts because I ran out of holes in the old ones. I was being fashionable (at least in some communities) because I had to keep a hand on my pants to keep them from falling to my knees.

My weight is down to 203 pounds. I have been trying unsuccessfully to hold it to at least 205 but I lost that battle a few days ago. A year ago I was 255 pounds in Mid-March. As a diet I don't recommend it.
