I have been getting emails lately, supposedly from Literotica, saying they are working on their protection from spam and want me to (verify) my account.

Has anyone else been getting these? The link the email sends you to doesn't say anything about Literotica. I have ignored them so far but they keep coming says I won't get my feedback anymore unless I click on their link.

It is a scam that has been floating around for a while. Ignore it. HP had the same thing a few weeks back.

Sounds like someone wants your account. Should have picked a stupid name :)

PM Laurel.

Sounds like a scam. Often the link is not what it looks like (e.g. http://www.literotica.com) so if in doubt, type it into your browser yourself rather than clicking on a link in an email. Even if they don't succeed in tricking you into giving your password, those sites are often infested with viruses, so make sure your protection is up to date.

If the emails are from SpamArrest, and you've been emailing Literotica.com, then those are real emails. Because of the high volume of spam we receive, a few years ago we moved to a challenge/response system (SpamArrest). This means that if you email us for the first time, you will receive an email from SpamArrest. To prove you are a real person and not a spambot, you need to click on the link within the email. Once you click on that link once, your email address will be forever greenlighted. If you do not click on that link, your emails from that address will not be forwarded to us.

If you have any questions on this, please PM me! :rose:

Suggest you need to rethink that one, Laurel. Because of the state of what the spammers do, one would need to be very trusting to do what you want. I wouldn't, especially with the explanation for it just buried somewhere in a forum thread every couple of years.

I don't remember, in fact, any poster ever saying the Literotica ever responded to an e-mail message.
