A question on a story submission

I submitted six stories early last week and have checked on the status since. Initially there were zero views, then there were two views, and now there are five views but these stories still have a "pending" status. How long until they will be posted for public viewing?

And here is THE question asked!

I'm not the great Jenny Jackson, but let me try to say this:

Normally it takes 7-10 days for a story to be posted, less if you're already known as a writer. It can take as long as two full weeks when there's a contest going on (which there is at the moment) as those stories take precedence on everything else.

Now, because you've asked THE question it will probably take until the end of the year, unless you send your complete resume to JJ with a copy of your driver's licence, two proof of residence, three statements of different credit cards showing you pay your bills on time, and one sperm sample showing your little swimmer's motility is good.

Furthermore, you'll have to write a 3000 words essay stating that you know you should have made a search on that topic before asking THE question. Then, and only then, will your story will be looked at.

Good luck. :)

This is mostly right. Howeer, there is a small fee now that this person has asked the QUESTION. Cashier's Checks and Money Orders in the amount of $100 made payable to JR Jackson are acceptable. I will then submit my recommendation to the Editoral Advisory Board for review in early 2008. :)

You might want to try AH - there seems to be a bogus million dollar bill floating around. Maybe you can get change back for all your effort - NOT!

Len, those "reads" are the site editors reviewing your stories before deciding whether to post or bounce them. The editors' perusals count as "reads."

There is nothing to worry about, generally you will have 7 or so views before it gets accepted. I personally have had a couple go higher, one went to 12 another ended up being 17. Though of course both of those were of a more controversial subject matter, in fact the one that went to 17 had been declined because I didn't say how old the main character is.

My bad talked about high school and such without stating graduated.

That's OK. Lit accepts stories from dropouts, flunk-outs, and escapees so long as they can spel and puncturate reel gud.

Oh bad copycarver, you made me laugh so hard our cat jumped off the monitor and clawed me a little on the landing. :nana:

Call me old fashioned if you must, but I preferred the more succinct replies to THE question offered on so many occasions by the much-missed MathGirl.

Any way, welcome to the madhouse, 412len. I would be inclined to report Lady C to the moderator if I were you, for abuse of newbies.

Well, I got my answer. All six of my stories were rejected for one reason or another so I'm not going to submit another story to literotica and I still retain my original copyright on my material without any "help" from this site. Thank you for the replies everyone. This was a real learning experience.

What it should have taught you is to read all the rules and make sure your stories are fit for submission before actually submitting them. Your frustration is almost entirely your own doing, and you wasted the time of the Literotica editors as well. You also wasted the time of people on the forum by not doing a simple search for the other one hundred million times your question has been answered in the forum. I don't mind the fact that you're not going to submit anything again, since you appear to have a habit of wasting people's time.

Sorry if this sounds harsh, but there you go.

Well that figures. Stomp your little feet, throw a tantrum and take your ball home with you.

Truly, if that's your attitude, we don't want you here. Good riddance.

Please do not include me in your sweeping condemnations (highlighted above). Until I elect someone as my spokesperson on here, I will speak for myself, thank you.

Stop it Jen, you're turning me on.

From an old Buddy Holly song... Sort of

"Oh where or where can Mathgirl be?
The Lord took her away from me.
She went to heaven, now the newbies got to be good,
So they survive the QUESTION without leaving this world..."

<Bows> :D

Thanks for the insight but I had them published shortly thereafter.
Appreciate all the condemnation (laughs)
