Why is that the thread starter cannot delete thread?

What is the point of giving this option when the Nazis owners of this site do not allow threads to be deleted?

You are likely to get liitle help if you want to villify the site owners. They are good folks and without them many o fus would have no venue for our stroies.

Bad start Songcatcher. Most people here are very fond of Laurel and Manu, both for providing this haven for writers and for protecting us when evil porn barons try to steal our work.

I don't know why you can't delete thread. I would suggest it is probably a feature of the software that this board is based around, but I've never had to use it. Mainly because I generally think before I post.

JOI: Is your sig anything to do with the Scarlett Thomas novel of the same name?

I just wanted my own very first thread - which is right now on the page two of this forum - deleted.

I wanted to delete it because it violates copyrights or something, and that's bad for the owners of this site.

And yes. Scarlett Thomas is one of the good authors worth reading.

Because deleting the first post in a thread also deletes every post in that thread.

Several features of this site are automatically triggered according to the post count -- avatars and custom titles, primarily -- and if users are allowed to delete threads, others users post counts can be adversely affected.

Incidently, you can't delete a post within a thread either becaue of past abuses when the delete function was active. You can edit a post to remove all content if you wish to take back what you've posted.

If the article is somewhere online, remove what is copywritten and leave an url to direct the reader to where it properly exists.

That way, both the copyright will be honored and the thread will make sense.

On the other hand, it is a dead thread, and there are far too many people around here dredging up long-dead threads, without a by-your-leave.* That might give them pause. paws?

* Come to think on it, I am one of them.

I couldn't, because I typed the whole thread by my self.

You should ask them.
