Hi. I have a question about submissions to Literotica. I didn't know which forum
would be best for this question. I just submitted a 10,000+ word story to the BDSM category, and I had trouble doing so. My problem was I couldn't get my total story to paste into the paste window. It only would accept about half of my story. When I went to view it before hitting the submit button, it had made a second page, but the total story would have required at least 4. So, I submitted the story as 8 separate stories, and that isn't the way I wanted to do it. Now, I have seen other stories with this many words, and they have them submitted as all one story, so what did I do wrong? Or, is there a trick to this submitting thing that I am unaware of? Thanks for any info. My first submission attempt is suffering because it was split up.

Sometimes you don't get to preview the whole thing. There's a glitch that stops it after page 2.

I wonder if Laurel is aware. I'll point her this way.

I've had problems pasting large amounts of text into the submission box. I think it is a problem/limitation of the text box HTML Control and may be browser specific.

If you save your story as a plain text file and then use the "Upload" feature to load in your story you will have much better luck. Then even if your browser won't support huge text boxes Literotica will still have your entire story. The preview will still have the problem, but when your story is posted it will all be there.

Hope this helps.

Ray

uh oh!

...maybe the system is beginning to take control... maybe it only wants SHORT STORIES...

:p

*down wild!*
;)

Ha ha

OK, I guess I am just a long winded talker. But, on the serious side, I would agree with you, if there is any non esential areas.

But, my story is long and satisfying. LOL It has quite a girth, too! That's quite a tongue you have, there...

hi there DVS :)

i was just teasing dear. i've been having fun discussions about short story writing, length, character description and development etc. i've learnt a lot. but couldn't resist a little tease here ;)

just when i thought i'd caught up with my reading, i think i'm going to have a little peek at yours :)

me too

I knew you were teasing. I love to tease. Teasing and tormenting, both the same sometimes.

Hey, how to you get a picture in the window to the left of this text window? And, how do I get rid of the word VIRGIN, too? LOL, I am far from a virgin, but I guess it is kind of kinky, really.

I don't think you will see much from my story, because only the first part is posted. That was the reason for my first post. The first part is really just the setup for the rest of the story. The 'meat' of it is in the later parts not yet posted.

But, I would like to hear what you think. It might even shock you, but not until later in the story.

whew *opening windows*

that'll teach me to go reading hot stories when my wild side is showing, sure warmed up the room a few degrees.

i'll look for the rest when it's published DVS

after 100 postings you'll be able to put a pic up - called AVATAR i think...

when you're old enough to loose your virginity tag you'll lose it *wink* it'll grow on ya believe it or not.

later on will shock me you reckon. hmmm *blushing* is there anything left that'll shock me? time will tell i know.

i liked the way you've begun though. to my 'limited' knowledge of BDSM the way you've gone from watching the video to watching the girl is well written.

oh grief! is that counted as feedback??? help! get me outa here!

anyway, i'm an oddball i think so my feedback may mean very little rofl

Nah...

Isn't feedback not given something like a question not asked?

Something like...
there is no bad feedback, just as there are no stupid questions.

hmmm

is that a rhetorical question?

isn't a question not asked one which has been formed cognatively without speech?

waitup...

is feedback not given an oxymoron?

is that legal?:p

please forgive me, i'm on a bit of a high having given myself a pat on the back for getting the basis of a story done FINALLY. i tend to play up a bit when that happens.

whoever said there are no stupid questions?
;)

OK, I give.

Is a rhetorical question a question? Isn't it really a statement.

I think you are a little upside down, down under. But, in a good way. Or, I'm downside up, in a bad way.

uh oh

watch out if you start homing in on Godzone!!!

if i was upsidedown down under then you would be the right way up. right? don't answer that. haven't you got anything to do? :p

just because you're nearly an antipodean doesn't mean i'm upsidedown... but it may well explain why you're downside is up. down here we call that being a Pukeko. they're flightless blue coloured birds with long legs. when they bend over they have this georgous little white tuft of downy feathers right .... ehm who let me back in here?

help??? i can't get out!!!!

rofl

ty for the fun!

ps: if you stay on here chatting you'll get your piccy in no time flat lol being bad is such fun!

...

Gonna have to look up antipodean and get back to you. And, I just might have the search the Internet for that blue Pukeko, for a look.

Woohoo! My seventh post!!:D :D :) :)

wrong hemisphere?

I think all of us in Northern hemisphere got slammed. But, then antipodean is all a matter of where you might be standing.

DVS, your cherry goes at the 30 post milestone. Thrilling but painless.

And how do you get 50 cent ice cream at McDonald's? Methinks you are getting a deal. Any idea how much fifty cents, New Zealand, is in U.S. dollars?

ohhhhh nooooooo!

i didn't slam anyone axel!!! indeed i also am an antipodean to some ;) and that is probably not a bad deal rofl

i was under the impression that a male losing his virginity was a painless event? ohmygolly am i wrong???

ice creams from the golden arches here are indeed 50c, i think that equates to about 25c american. pretty cheap eh?

had any luck looking for a pukeko DVS?

Lots!

I found lots of things on the homely looking bird. Well, maybe beauty is in the eye of another Pukeko? I also found sites named after them, and one lady even makes fake ones on a stick for your garden decorations. Actually, they are new to her sales, but she seems to be selling sticks. The assorted things on top are free. Everything has a stick coming from it.
Here, where I live, we have an overload of geese. The world headquarters of Sprint is here, and they have this small lake on their old campus. Well, over the years, the geese have made this home. This is no big deal, but they have over populated to the point to where they can be seen walking on streets and sidewalks and they make their selves to home in restaurant parking lots, sometimes taking up valuble parking spots for a nest. Still, people tend to let them be. And if you have ever walked up on a full grown goose guarding her young, you would too. The big problem is what they seem to leave behind, if you know what I mean.

I had forgotten you have one of my favorite fruits down there. Kiwi, brought to New Zealand from China, is one of my favorites, because it is like green strawberries, which I also love. I have wild strawberries growing in my yard, as well as grapes, but the birds get all of the good stuff. I know, this is much more than anyone really wants to hear about my yard.

Still the Pukeko seems to be well known on the web. And, you said he is blue? Only parts of him are blue, with other parts being black, along with that white spot down under!

wow

actually her pukekos on sticks is kinda tempting. i'd love to have one stuck in my garden. they look mainly dark blue in my neck of the woods, i get to see them often on the side of the road. and that little white tuft always gets me grinning ;)

this time of year is duck shooting season here. now i fully understand what you mean about parcels that geese leave behind, the ducks do it too. thank goodness the cows are kept in paddocks eh? ;)

your yard sounds kinda homey, i like it :) beats concrete apartments hands down in my opinion.

yep kiwifruit, delicious. and strawberries ohhhhhh yummm, got the juices flowing there ;)

I shouldn't mention this.
But it is possible to submit a story via e-mail.
I think that they can be as long as you want.
One problem with long stories is that they appear
in several pages, and the machine chooses when to break
them.
O K, I'm anal about such things. If my story is going to
break *I* want to decide where.

Thanks

I am aware of this form of posting, but said it could take several weeks to get it posted that way. I am prepared for any method of posting, but was trying to go along with the fastest method. And, other than the 8 sections not being 'attached' as one continuous story, once more of my chapters are posted, the better the whole thing will be understood.

And, I agree with you...I want my breaks to be where I put them, if there are to be breaks. So, I did my best to put them where I thought they should be, when I broke it up. Still, I got feedback from people asking why I stopped the story, and asking if it was going to be continued, ending with lots of !!!!. LOL Maybe that was restless anticipation for the next part, which would mean I put the breaks in the best spots.
Like anyone, my stories are my kids and I want them given all the options possible.
Thanks for your input.
