As long as you are meticulous about where you keep those pics, and if (and how) you may show them to others, taking nude or explicit pics can be relatively safe. Digital encryption and local only storage are key. Don't keep them in your phone's photos app!!

Having said that, the risk of a picture (perceived or real) is part of the reason you do it. It's a thrill. Taking pictures or videos during sex really amps things up! And getting a nude selfie from your wife is an instant hard-on!

I get the reluctance that some people have. The idea that the picture may be seen by someone other than the person intended can be terrifying. It's definitely not for everyone. My wife is a willing and consensual participant, but I definitely get more out of it that she does. She gets more from my reaction than the pics themselves.

Taking photos can also be a gateway to other kinks, like sharing with others. That's a whole other thing!

Doing this survey on Lit, there is a great likelihood that you are getting a highly biased sample. My guess is that, in reality, very few men have nude pictures of their wives. I would never do it, or want one. I see her naked most every day. And, I certainly would never share a photo of her.
