A question about tattooing a penis.

Now that I've got your attention, like the subject line says, I have a question (or two) about tattooing a penis.

In the course of a conversation this afternoon, the topic of tattoos came up. We were talking about various pieces of work we had seen and someone mentioned seeing pictures of tattooed penises (or is that penii? ).

That got me to wondering.....

When tattooing a penis, does it work better if the penis is hard or soft? If hard, how would one keep it hard while doing something like that?

I think it would be easier for the artist to work on a hard one than a soft one but I've never done a tattoo so I don't know for sure.

from what I know, I think your design should be transferred with a hard-on (so your design is properly placed). I think any erection would be lost when the needle strikes the skin.

I too thought an erection would be lost when the needle strikes the skin, but, from what I've been reading, that's not always the case....
