A question about beauty

Lately I've been reading the Tarzan novels and the two most recent ones brought up a question about beauty.

In Tarzan the Untamed, we are introduced to a race of people who all have beautiful bodies, but hideous faces.

In Tarzan the Terrible, we are introduced to a race that have tails and feet like monkeys and overlong thumbs and to a race which in addition to those characteristics, are covered with black hair. We meet females of both types stated to be exceptonally beautiful by ordinary human standards, and males stated to be exceptionally handsome by ordinary standards..

Now do you think you could be turned on by a member of any of these three races?

Beauty is in the eye of the beholder.

has always been. I think jane mansfield was gorgeous, and Sophia Loren, and Maureen O'hara, and the girl who played trinity in the matrix, and princess Di, Olivia Newton john, twiggy, et al. Completely different body types, pesonalities and donfigurations, but all appealing.

Kimberly Kupps looks freakish to me, bu men who like big boobs find her attractive in the extreme.

With alien races, assuming you were prepared to meet such a race and it wasn't just a complete shock, I don't see where you couldn't find somone of that race attractive.

To be honest, although I can (and do) get turned on by sheer flawless physical beauty, I'm more likely to pick up on something odd and focus on the beauty of that, rather than look at any imperfections. My ex had striking rather than beautiful features, but her eyes and her hair made her perfect in my eyes. Plus, a personal connection is near vital.

So, yes, if I liked one of them, then I'm sure I could be turned on by them.

I guess they have some characteristics in common with the "normal" human and that those characteristics are attractive enough to overlook the others. Mermaids are, at least in some popular configurations of the myth, considered attractive, and they have icky fish tails.

I find the character in your AV quite attractive. And really, some of the proportions are a bit off, and most importantly, she's all grey. ;)

All that, plus the always crucial question of how close it is to closing time.

Character (personal traits as opposed to a fictional being) is beautiful.

We all know how long physical beauty actually lasts. True beauty is something completely different, and it does last.

So, to answer your question: if given the time to get to know someone from one of those races, yes, I could find them beautiful. :)

The beauty of any girl is influenced by several factors.... I believe there is a formula which applies....

beauty =N*(100/mtc)*((nd/2)*(mtc/m)

where
N= the sober beauty rating on a scale of 1 to 10
mtc = minutes till closing time
nd = number of drinks consumed
m= minutes since the last drink.

In all seriousness.... the beauty of a person inside weighs heavily on the sexual attraction. Beauty is vastly enhanced by personality.

... and then there's the corrolary- (T/CU=esc) where Time divided by the Coyote Ugly quotient equals how long it takes you to gnaw off your arm and escape out the door

In all fantasy seriousness, a healthy pelt of shimmering fur would be utterly sexy to me- and think of all the things you could do with a tail!

You left off a ')' so the foumula won't work.

You also forgot on the thickness of the beer glass you're looking through.

See the Fosters advert in the new AV thread for a graphical representation of the formula in action. This page

I had a picture on my old system that I forgot to save. It was of a woman who had decidedly felinoid features. Eyes, small muzzle and whiskers, tail and claws as well as a fine covering of fur. It was one of the most highly erotic pictures I have seen in a long time.

So to answer your question, yes another can be beautiful if you can get past the differences. (Isn't that true of the race of man as well?)

I believe we all have our standards, and I respect them all, yet personally - no - I am not into hirsute, but for on the head in a Samson way. :D

I liked one of the female characters in the latter part of Heinlein's Glory Road who had a prehensile tail and used it on her partner on a dance floor.

Now how could I forget that? I'm going to have to dig that book out and read it again.

Not only is 'beauty' relative there is also a marked element (or marked elephant if this is about Tarzan) of the times, bearing on popular beauty, particularly (I think) with regard to male good looks.

Early sixties parents (those who were parents of teens in the early sixties) regarded Mick Jagger as ugly but Paul McCartney as handsome. These days Mick is sexy and Macca is just old.

But girly beauty seems to be transcendent (popularity wise) although very much affected by racial features.

Personally I prefer unusual beauty, the kind that changes every time you see it. Streisand, Goldberg, Lennox etc. (Barbara, Whoopi and Annie not Albert, Heimi and Lewis)

Being turned on is a matter of being tuned in. (The dropping out is optional)

Edited to add: If you visit any of the cartoon porn sites you will find anthropomorphication of various female animals and they can be extremely arousing.
