Yes, this one all about the bragging. Hate it, love it, spew wicked vitriol upon it, it's all about me! Yay me!

Okay....I'm halfway through my midterms. I've been really uptight about going back to school. I'm not young. I was a horrible student the first time I tried this. Yadda. Yadda. Yadda.

You've all heard this before in dribs and drabs.

But...I'm through my midterms, and here's the scorecard.

American Literature II - Two tests: Two "A-"s!

Music Appreciation - A Solid A, including a 50 out of 50 on one big paper.

History of Jazz - No grade thus far, though my teacher has told me that the only way I won't get an "A" in his class is to slash his tires.

General Psychology - 99 out of 100 thus far, including a 98 on the mid-term.

Booyah! Okay, I'm officially really, really happy!!!! I know there's a long way to go, but still....

:D :D :D

Excellent, Jimmy!

*big hugs and sloppy wet kisses*

I knew you could do it :)

Brag on!

Kudos to you Jim...

and not the candy granola bar either! :D

Good job! It is difficult to go back to school as an adult. the brain doesn't work the same as it did when we were kids.

Bravo Jim...Bravissimo!! *appaluse :rose::rose::rose::rose:

Awesome!

Guys like you are why the kids hate non-traditonals.;)

It's so unfair to them!

good job, hope you bought yourself a new cd or a steak or something to reward yourself...

Uhhh, keep in mind

(from one who went to college after gaining some life experience)

That they don't post your GPA on your diploma.

I was asked about my GPA

ZERO Times.

I was more likely to be asked, "Can you do this job, have you done this job?" As long as you can say yes and make them believe it...

I think he's bluffing. I bet you'll get an "A" even if you do slash his tires. So go ahead - call him on it!

(Congrats, by the way. It's nice to get recognition for your hard work. :) )

Oi... Mojo Jojo...

Awesome my man simply awesome. If anyone has a right to a bragging thread, you do with those marks buddy...

Oh and I'm with Mischka... call his bluff and go for the tyres...:D

Oddly enough, this is the ery reason I'm going back to college. After having heard that questions, answering it definitively and being told "Wow. We'd love to have you, but you don't have a degree", it was time to go back.

So now I'm in it with a vengeance.

I want the whole deal. I want the Dean's List. I want scholarships. I want postgraduate schools calling me asking if I'd attend their institution. I want schools clamoring for me to be there. :)

Nah..I"m not on too much of an ego trip. Not at all. ;)

I just got tired of squandering what I thought I could do, safely behind the comfort of a job that hasn't tried me in years and I could do with my eyes shut. It was time to see what I could do. I ain't gonna stop until they tell me I can't go any farther. :D

Nahhh..I couldn't do that. He's a really neat guy, and has forgotten more about jazz than I know. I need him, at least until I've gotten every bit of info from his dried husk. ;)

And thanks, everyone. :D

Congrats!

As someone who teaches undergrads, I can honestly say that I am pleased when I have non-traditional students in my courses. They are better students and they generally make class discussions much more interesting.

Wish you were one of my students

Now the pressure is on. My mids aren't until next week. My last ones, maybe ever!

But notice what I am doing to prepare..... Go figure.

Way to go. Hope the rest go as well.

Thanks, Jam. :D

Believe it or not, I didn't do any hard-core studying. The most useful thing I did to cement the material in my head was to retype my class notes a day or two after the class.

I was surprised how well it helped me recall the information. At times, I could picture myself typing the words I needed to answer the questions.

I'm definitely recommending this method as a study method!

I think one time I got an A while in school.

Although, it was just part of the teachers comment "A travesty"
