I'm very impressed with your eloquence and clarity in your opening posts, and I flatter myself that's why you came to AH to talk politics. I'd far rather talk writing and sex, but this election scares the piss out of me, if McCain wins I see the US losing the last shreds of global goodwill that we have left... but you might have a better perspective on that!

As for McCain, he keeps insisting that he is not Bush. I hope for everyone's sake that he's not. He used to be more of a centrist than now. More independent. It's kind of sad. Party discipline has claimed another victim.
Even so, I think that most Europeans are willing to give a new President of any stripe another chance. Plenty of leaders have exhausted their credit, only to have a breath of fresh air from the same party. As long as he doesn't ruin his chance, McCain can have a clean slate. But I fear that he will throw it away, much as Callaghan and Major did after Wilson and Thatcher.
Mind you, he could be like Helmut Schmidt, a change for the better. But that's just my assessment of Schmidt after the Willy Brandt scandals and controversy. Others might dissent from my high opinion of Schmidt.
And I don't know if McCain is the right man for the moment. He seems to have a very angry and impulsive temperament. After a "cowboy" in the White House, America needs a cooler head, I think.

The Usual Suspects wont vote McCain...period; so he needs the votes of the Republican Kool Aid Drinkers. Obama has the same problem with his fanatix. There is no middle ground this time around.
Recall that McCain and the Gang of 14 opposed Bush and the GOP when they intended to use the Nuclear Option of changing the rules for filibusters. Recall that the Democrats were opposing every Bush court nomination for spite, after the 2000 election. McCain saved your ass and seriously pissed Bush off.
McCain is about as centrist as they come. Its why conservatives hate him, and I'll eat my hand before I'll vote for him. I'd rather Obama take the heat for the coming Depression.

Sev, Sev, Sev. Yes, both parties are corrupt, but Bob Barr isn't the answer. Ralph Nader is. Barr is just an ex-Congressman, though admittedly one with recent credentials as a civil-libertarian. Nader is a tireless, selfless one-man consumer watchdog agency. He's a real patriot, in my view, who truly favors the common good. Though I doubt that you'll agree with my endorsement.
But if all of those Democrats backed Nader instead of Obama, we'd have real change in the White House.

I am still racking my brains as to why I have such distinct areas in which I prefer male dom and femdom. Why male dom in normal relationships, but femdom in a taboo context like incest?

Oedipal? Hmmm....I don't see it, at least not in conscious terms. But it was a worthy try.
It's more of an older sister thing than a mother thing, I think. Perhaps that's why I have the incest element in the story be brother-sister, not mother-son. They're closer to equals, but he submits for the joy of it, not because he is being abused or exploited.
That's my own theory. But I'm open to insights.
As for sexual deviation, perhaps for a man who once lived under a highly regimented society, the taboo simply has a greater appeal. Which may tie back in to my question.
But at any rate, I am very keen on sexual deviation. Because on this much, we are agreed, but for slightly different reasons (well, economically). Society is perverse.
