Of course location would make a hell of a difference in my assumptions. Frinstance, anyone I saw with bruises, male or female, in South Manchester I would assume had been in a fight.

Interesting results.
Litsters are twice as likely to assume the woman is a victim, but it's not as high as i thought it might be. Though, obviously, what people say in a poll may not reflect the reality.

I don't think I've ever had any facial bruising, so I have no idea how people react. I know other women who have said that they've felt self conscious about an accidental bruise, because they assumed everyone else assumed they'd been slapped around. But that could just be paranoia and the assumption that they would have made.

I might start a poll about poor widdle smoot's hurted feewings...
