Assuming i get the poll right, pick two options. One for men and one for women.

I assume that at some point you will lead this into your bloody fucking periods. Like you have done for decades.

Give it a bloody fucking rest, poles and all.

In advance, you are all welcome.

I voted on the basis that I don't know anything about these people other than their gender and if they have a bruise.

Their demeanor would play into it somewhat as well as any other bruises. Holding bruises I'm definitely assuming domestic violence.

A bruise creasing the forehead, I'm more likely to think is an accident.

Multiple bruises I'm going to assume either a fight or domestic violence and yes I'm probably going to make gender assumptions there.

I truthfully gave the supposedly stereotypical answer: if man, it's a fight; if woman, it's domestic violence. Nature of the bruise is important, my answer is true specifically for a black eye, because I can't think up that many scenarios one can accidentally get a black eye (however it's definitely possible). Who the person is, how they present themselves is of course of critical importance too. (Confident athletic girl with a bicycle will have harder time to trigger domestic violence flag than grey mouse who fails to met anyone's eyes.)

And yes, I know to question those first assumptions.

Domestic violence is a subset of fighting circumstances, and I think the thought process there goes: 1) accident or fight? 2) If fight, in what circumstances? Domestic violence is very specific answer. It's far more likely a guy will get face beaten by a drunk buddy, but the risk of physical domestic violence is higher for women and, assuming I care and have a resource for it (connection, time, emotion), worth investigating.

I knew somebody who caught the corner of a car door in the eye while getting into the car.

There are plenty of stories about chunks of wood flying up while woodworking or chopping firewood. Baseball players have been hit in the eye.

Never Assume. If in doubt, ask.

Sure, as I said it's definitely possible and first assumptions should never be the basis for action, but the question is exactly about those.

Trysail should do a chart of dolf thread content based on her cycle.

This one is a heavy flow thread.

Some whack job here tried to pull this assumption crap on me yesterday. He was summarily shut down and discarded immediately.

I woulda voted Dolf but you've been grouchy at me lately, so..

No comment.

If it's a man I assume he was in a fight. If it's a woman I assume she didnt listen.
