Most republicans senate and house members voted against the stimulus package-- of course.

Now, many of those same people are trying to take credit for the money that package has brought into their states. A running list is here, at the Hypocrisy Log

And republicans are very hurt because Al Franken won't vouch for them. They say they are not pro rape, they just want to protect the corporations that have protected rapist employes; http://www.politico.com/news/stories/1209/30088_Page1.html

John Stewart Mill said this, in a Letter to the Conservative MP, Sir John Pakington (March 1866);

I never meant to say that the Conservatives are generally stupid. I meant to say that stupid people are generally Conservative. I believe that is so obviously and universally admitted a principle that I hardly think any gentleman will deny it.

An interesting, provocative thread.

More than anything else it is, though, it reveals that long, disruptive campaign of yours to move political threads out of AH as the sham that it always was. ;)

If you can't beat em, join em.

And your post shows what an idiot you can be. The request to move political threads was just that and nothing more. You're the one who kept saying that it was all a plot to control the AH. So give it a rest already.

"Can't beat em then join em" is and always has been a silly claim to cover a lack of principles.

Yep, it was a false issue for Stella and friends (you included, apparently) to get to decide what does and what doesn't get to be posted to AH. And she will just continue to plug away on it.

This, at least, shows how shallow her principles are. (and how loyal her blind friends are) ;)

The only thing I wanted to have it's own forum was Politics. Period. Now, get off your fucking high horse.

Yes, it occurred to me that, like those same Republicans, I am now taking advantage of my own bill's defeat :D

That's what happens in a democracy. There isn't a special rule that says that political threads are allowed for everyone except Stella.

Did Stella ever say she didn't want to discuss politics? And since it didn't get moved, where else is she going to do it?

We have a separate forum for writing critique and one for feedback, but still people post those topics here occasionally, and others respond. No biggy. So I will never understand the terror at giving political topics it's own sub-forum.

So how about those not pro-rape senators, huh? Al Franken just impresses me so much!

STELLA is correct. The GOP are assholes. Always have been. If hanging blacks became popular again, they'd be for it.

So, we'll put you down as not particularly liking to see Stella's "whining Republicans" thread on the AH then, shall we? ;)

If there were a separate room for politics here, you have no idea how much more fun the rest of the orgy rooms would be. Whiny Republicans can be erotic and sexual, too...when they wanna be. :D

Not that I don't disagree with the bones of what Stella posted, mind you. ;)

I don't disagree with what Stella posted at all--I don't even care if such threads are posted to AH--from either side. I just won't open the threads that look like they'll irritate me, and I know how to scroll beyond the first page to see the threads I'm following. That, of course, isn't the issue I raised, though. ;)

Some statements are timeless.

Then why do you open threads Stella starts, which is the issue you raised. :D

Ummm. Because leftist political threads don't irritate me, maybe?

And, no , that's not the issue I raised.

Ya know, despite being so quick to call other idiots, you're not always the brightest bulb in the chandelier, Tx. :D

Oh ok.

Specialize in non sequiturs, do you?

The issue is Stella's hypocrisy. How does that fit into what you are posting?

On the hypocrisy front, our very own Senator McCain is loudly decrying the Dem's proposed cuts to Medicare, even though they're smaller than the Medicare cuts McCain proposed during his presidential campaign.

I would suggest that looking for hypocritical behavior in conservatives is comparable to looking for freckles on a redhead. Of course, I would rather not inspect most conservatives that closely, although in a pinch, I suppose I'd consent to searching for freckles on Sarah Palin's ass if that act of depravity would somehow advance the cause of Liberalism.

(Cloudy - I got 25 of those stickers from CREDO, which I'm handing out this year in lieu of Xmas presents.)
