So, the relocation is over, the boxes are gone, there are still piles of random stuff all over the top level of my house...but Lit is a fine break from the organizational monotony, is it not? So I will mix a bunch of things in here, some travel, some sights, some Mae...hopefully something interesting for those who choose to peek here.

The journey from SD over to the E.Coast was thoroughly enjoyable and involved some great company! I had the fortune to connect with a few more Litziens, but unfortunately also passed a couple of you like ships in the night! All I can say is perhaps, another time? Saw some interesting places, did a little shopping (you can see that later though, lol!), had a good time overall.

My time in Europe so far has been overwhelming, fun, disheartening, intriguing, educational...it really was a hell of a move! I've ventured to Paris already, which was an interesting place. Not sure if I'll go back again, but perhaps I will. If the few whom I interacted with are any indication of the norm there, then Parisian men need a lot of lessons in manners and respect for personal space! Not much more to say about that other than I just about caused an international incident by the Eiffel Tower, lol!

I hope to get an online photo album up soon, so those of you who might have interest in following my travels can keep up with them there. I won't put up too much stuff here, but ya'll know I do enjoy sharing the scenery sometimes.

I guess I'll get started with a smattering here. My house has some areas which have given me quite a few inspiring thoughts, you'll see the fruits of those in the future! If Aaron ever lets my Muse go, that is! :)

Be well Lit
*hugs*

Sounds lovely...I would be very interested in seeing your pics, Mae. :)
A little more info on the Eiffel Tower incident would be thoroughly enjoyable, as well. :D

Castling...

My first German castle! Wheee...forgive me in my translations of names, obviously I still have a LOT to learn! Any of you fluent in German, feel free to correct me! (And perhaps offer lessons??!). I believe this is translated as the "Light Castle"...Burg Lichtenstien? It's hard to get good shots of these places hidden up on hilltops!

Happy Moving

I am dislocated today as well. I'm just shutting down my system for a week or so! I'm only moving eight blocks, but part of the house isn't finished so I may move the stuff over and travel for a week. If I cna fire up the spare office computer I'll check lit out from time to time.

But your move is fascinating Mae! Tell us more about your international incident! Maybe someone can write a story around it!
;)

Oooh, the Eiffel Tower incident? Well, I was sitting resting my weary feet in the park at the Tower when a fellow sat down and started chatting with me, asking me where I was from, etc... (I guess I look like a foreigner, fancy that!). After a few minutes of innocuous conversation, he leaned over and attempted to kiss me while grabbing my breast! Is that the norm over there?! So I proceeded to smack him and ask him what the hell he was doing, heh. Then he seemed confused and asked if I thought he wasn't nice, and reassuring me that no one there would care because public affection is acceptable over there. I had to inform him I wasn't refusing him because I was worried about other people, but that in my book you certainly don't encroach on someone's personal space in that sort of manner after just meeting them! Talk about a bit of culture shock. It seems kissing people you just met is common in Paris since 3 different people tried it. Very strange indeed... :D

Frankfurt

Went to Frankfurt yesterday, fascinating city. I'll have to go back soon and spend another day or so exploring! Anyone recommend good places there?

You know, being in European cities really impresses me with how young the US is. So many buildings which have been standing here since long before my home was even "founded"! Frankfurt had some beautiful architecture...

Statues at an old City Hall North building entrance...

Paris

Even though it was terribly crowded (what a shock, prime tourist season!), Paris did have many beautiful places. If I ever go back, it will definitely NOT be in the summer months when everyone else is there! I might find Paris in winter more charming...it seemed huge and crowded and crazy in the end of June!

Speaking of the Tower...

Welcome back, Mae
You have been missed

Beautiful pictures

Wow...what an experience! I don't know, if he was "too fine"...I might not mind the kissing, but the fondling of my breasts would definetly be too much. :)
Apparently that is the norm there, whatever will you do??:D

I am corresponding with a guy in Germany, and these pics surely do help me to appreciate his experience. The architecture is astounding...just stunning. ;) Thank you so much for sharing, and I look forward to many more.:)

I have to admit, out of everything I saw in Paris, Notre Dame was the most impressive to me. I even went in and it didn't fall down! ;) I honestly can't fathom people building something that amazing so long ago. I didn't catch Quasimodo though, I'll have to try again next time!

...sigh.....someone please, whisk me away to Paris??;)

I love these pics, Mae! Thank you!:)

Thank you pet :) I see you have been prolific in the time I have been away, and stunning as always *bow*

You know, I am 41 years old, and have never seen a pic of Notre Dame. I thank you.:rose:

I'm not sure quite who this is supposed to be, but I thought it was an awesome statue nonetheless. Perhaps someone can educate me? I'm assuming it's representative of some Biblical story, which would explain my ignorance :)

intrigued, my pictures don't even begin to do it justice. The sheer size and craftwork in that building is mindboggling. It was like that everywhere, amidst all the crowded buildings and new glass-sided offices were these incredibly old pieces of architectural art! I could get lost for days in any city here, I'm sure of it! I will share as I can, for those of you who share my pleasure in it! :)

Wow! Its so beautiful!

I think I'm getting wet!:D Thank you for these pics...I just love them!

I have no idea who it is or its meaning either, so I need a little educating as well.:)

Now for something a little different!

Or, a different sort of scenery, if you will. Featuring a spoil from my cross-country shopping experience! While I do like my first bustier, I now have to say it pales in comparison to the hand-made leather ones I was trying on in this great shop in Frankfurt yesterday! If only I was rich....*sigh* good leather doesn't come cheap! Ah well, perhaps a self birthday present or something! :)

I love the balcony off of my bedroom! At night the moon bathes me in my bed, and the sun adorns me in the morning. A nice view and a private one! Methinks I can have fun with this in the future <eg> But for now, something simple...

Please do continue to share? This is something I am relatively certain I will never experience in my life time, so this is a very tremendous treat for me.:) Thank you so much.:rose:

Well Mae,

Looks like you have seen some wonderful thing over there. I envy you being able to live in another country for a bit and hope it is the start of many good things for you. :)

Wecome back, Mae...

If I have my time right it should be about 6 pm there. I'm glad you are settleing in so well. Well, except for Paris *lol*. They probably were smitten with your beauty.

The pictures are wonderful. And with your natural eye for photography, it is almost as if I were there (oh, that sounds so cliche, doesn't it)

Hope to see more soon.

Berk :rose:

I enjoy looking out, watching over the fields near my house. It is a small town, surrounded by rolling fields, hills and patches of forest. This is a beautiful countryside!

Wow!
Please, I am quite straight, so please don't misinterpret my comments, but you are a beauty! I find so much appeal in women with curves, and not toothpick bodies. Very alluring.:) How I would love to have one of those bustiers...wow!:)

What a sight....

Umm...don't be suprised if I send you my shipping addy.:D I want those curtains, the bed, and that damn bustier!:D

Hello Mae,

I've been a big fan of your posts and wanted to say welcome back.

As far as European cities to venture to ... if you enjoyed Frankfurt, you'll enjoy visiting Heidelberg as well. I used to live in Germany for 15 years (Army brat) and was fortunate enough to see all of Europe (as well as some of the local ladies...lol).:D

Other places to venture... the beaches of Majorca, the Hague, Rome, Venice (if they corrected the people throwing their garbage into the canal problem).

Again, welcome back.
:)
