"Helios, this is Shooting Star, requesting clearance for departure. Helios, Shooting Star requesting departure, Roger."

Yuen sighed as she looked around at her team mates. A lot of them were nervous, but were trying quite hard to keep a facsimile of calm. She couldn't blame them. Most could barely remember Earth at all. For them, Helios had always been home and now they were being commanded to leave that home. This wasn't like a trip to Grandma's. They wouldn't be coming back to Helios for years, if at all.

"Shooting Star, this is Helios. Permission granted. I repeat, permission granted. All lights are go."

Almost simultaneously, a ship left the moon's surface, streaking across the sky. Even with all the tinkering and advances in science, added to the fact that they had done this when Helios was closest to the Moon, it was still going take a good fifteen hours to reach their destinations, provided no complications arose. Closing her eyes, Yuen settled in for a long flight.

((So convenient roster of who goes where.
Helios
Corporal Inez Vargas
Private Deacon Thay
Senior Chief Christopher Selbut (He is one of the ten people being transfered from Artemis 1 to Helios)
Artemis 1
Captain Yuen Hart(transfer among the ten going from Helios to Artemis 1)
Arson Trask
Space
Keenia
It's just a place to start.. if you don't like it come up with a plausible reason for your char to move...or you could just ignore it completely >_> whatever))

Inez grunted, feeling her muscles tense and tighten as she held thirty kilograms in her hands, roughly half a meter above her head. Her fingers gripped the weights´ bar, trying at the same time to relax. Inez could feel a drop of sweat slowly drip down her left temple as she stared at the steel pieces.

So, visitors from Helios... it sounded like a hell of a chance to... do something. Well, truth be told, Inez didn´t feel like meeting these new people would make such a big difference in the lives of Artemis´ inhabitants. After all, they had been living in a place not unlike Artemis since Earth disappeared.

Returning to Earth, now that would be incredible...

Sighing, she set the weights down on their supports. Inez sat up on the weight lifting bench, and grabbed the nearest towel to dry her sweat off. Artemis´ gym facilities seemed to teem with activity at certain hours of the day, but not this morning. Only a few of the sec-pers and some of those who still cared about exercise, or seeked to escape anxiety through it, were still in the gym. An inmaculate white building, with exercise machines placed here and there.

Inez sighed, as she relaxed her muscles. Her skin was bright with sweat, her white undershirt was soaked, and her black pants were ruffled. She scratched the back of her head, right below the point where her braid started, and stood up.

Just a few hours later, life in Artemis would get interesting... she hoped.

Deacon sighed as he tilted his head from side to side cracking his neck slightly as he walked into the gym. It was pretty quiet and even though it was still pretty early it was unusual for it to be this quiet. He shrugged it off and proceeded into the gym, ever since he started his martial arts training he'd been working out alot and hence seen as a patron here in the gym. It was probably because eveyrone was nervous about today and couldn't pull themselves together, anyways he had training to do.

Glancing around as he entered the gym he quickly spotted Inez and set course for her while curiously looking around the gym to see who else was in here. Taking off his thin training jacket and tying it around his waist he moved up next to Inez letting a heavy hand rest down on her shoulder to get her attention as it seemed as though she was getting ready to leave. "Already done? You must have been up early aswell, don't tell me the visitors have got you all stirred up aswell, you of all people" he chuckled softly and swung around her, sitting down on the bench she had just used, slipping beneath the bar and began lifting it a couple of times get his muscles warmed up. "Oh, could i pursuade you into throwing a few extra weights on?"

Arson Trask sat at his computer, pointlessly going over some figures, he knew the exact places where it was wrong, he made mistakes on purpose so that people wouldn’t realize that he wasn’t human, it was the worst pat of the charade he was forced to play every day.

Arson was an alien, or an alien robot, to be honest his memory was a little damaged, but he was sentient. his ship crashed on earth before man had even fully evolved, but he only woke up a few years before the earths disappearance.

"Forget this" he stood up and walked off, new people were about to show up and he was meant to help great them, head scientist was a shit job when there’s no resources, no funding, and nobody with any real expertise to assist.

Chris was drunk. He had gone to the bar after his shift to drowned his pain again. Violet had left him after 2 years. For 2 years they had been dating. For over a year they shared a room and a bed. Then that damn woman stole her from him. Try as he might, he couldn't blame the lesbian for desiring his woman. Petite body, long flowing brown hair, expressive chocolate eyes, a smile that lit up the room... No he couldn't blame her for her interest, but he damn well could blame her for acting on it! Damn Violet too! Damn her for paying attention to the woman, damn her for letting her awaken a desire for women stronger than her desire for her boyfriend! They had been so happy...

"Poor Chris, poor, poor Chris..." said a familiar female voice.

"No, Haley. Your Commander's. I'm getting drunk, not *hick* trouble."

"No your not getting in trouble." she reassured him, "I'm just a friend trying to help you cope..." she purred in his ear.

Haley had been after him for some time now. Ever since that party, she stalked him, hit on him, trying hard to seduce him. With his love for Violet, and his respect for his commander, rebuffing her had been easy. Now Violet was gone, and he was a wreck. Nothing seemed as important as it had.

Haley remembered that party well. She had never really been interested in other men after she married Jack. Never had she entertained the idea of an affair, till she met him. A bit cocky yet friendly, fun and good looking. He became an obsession for her. She didn't know what set her off, but now she really doesn't care.

Haley knew he was week, that soon he would crack. Like Violet, she had long wavy brown hair and expressive brown eyes, though she had more pronounced curves than Violet did. She believed her similarities to Violet would help her greatly in his drunken state. She even copied Violet's exact hair style to further this likeness in his mind. If she played her cards right, he'd be all hers tonight at very long last.

Inez was a bit startled by Deac´s greeting. She turned to look at him, and mostly saw his muscles. Her mother used to tell Inez she was a bit too tall for a woman, but when she had to look up at Deac... well, it was an interesting comparison.

Also, seeing him lie down on the bench she had just used made her blush just a little bit. The idea of her sweat touching his skin was embarrassing. Still, his comment on the weight made her smirk. Deac was a smartass sometimes, but Inez knew he didn´t do it out of maliciousness, unlike others in the station. There was quite a bit of stress all around the compound, and not everybody found a suitable escape valve.

"I´m not stirred up... I´m sure those scientists are just like us. Maybe a bit more boring, actually. I´m more curious than anything. And what about you? Don´t tell me you haven´t really thought about the new arrivals..."

Inez was a bit breathless as she spoke, still recovering, her chest heaving gently. For Deac, holding those weights aloft could be easy, but not so much for her. Inez found that building up her strength was proving difficult. She did make some progress, yeah, but seeing Deac lift the same weights she was working with so easily was quite humbling.

Deac put the bar down before shrugging and looking up at Inez standing above him, he swallowed somewhat at the sight. The slender well trained body of his corporal quite the sight as she stood there in her black training pants and soaked white undershirt, sweat still glistning off her forehead and arms. He shifted around slightly before grinning as he noticed the warmth of the bench from when she had been lying there "thanks for warming her up for me" he grinned out at her "Well of course i've thought about them... but i mean whats the big deal, people are acting like we are being invaded by aliens... truth be told i'm not quite sure what the briefing said about their purpose here, they're probably just up here to read a few gauges or something"

He loved to see her smirk, which was one of the main reasons for him being such a smartass, well not only with Inez but especially around her, he generally like to see people smile when around him and he'd be happily to give them a mental poke in the right direction.

As he picked up the bar and began lifting it again he tilted his head and looked up at her "Did you add more... nngh weight recently?" he knew she spent alot of time here in the gym to improve her physique even though he didn't really think she had to, she looked amazing as she was and even though he hadn't trained with her in quite some time now he was sure that she could handle most.

Inez nodded in silence. Yes, it was true... they were scientists. Perhaps the higher-ups thought they would be needed for maintenance. Maintenance that the people in the station couldn´t carry out themselves. It had to be something bad, then... or perhaps they just wanted both populations to be a bit more friendly towards each other. But the expenditure of fuel for something like that wasn´t worth it, or at least so she thought.

Inez looked back down at Deac, and her eyes fixed upon his muscles. His arms tensed, but beyond that, there was no sign that Deac was having any trouble rising the same weight as her.

"Nah, I haven´t added any. At least, not since last weekend. That was when I decided to beat my record."

Inez made a gesture of dismissal with her hand, and simply relaxed with the towel around her neck before sitting on another nearby bench. She smiled at him as she bent forwards a little with an air of complicity.

"So, how´re things going on on your side of the universe?"

He tilted his head to look over at her from time to time while lifting the weights before turning it back to look up at the ceiling and concentration on lifting the weights. Measuring the weight of the bar he lifted it a few times more before setting it down and looking over at her "What are you up to? 35-40 kilos by now, you're making pretty good progress" sliding out beneath the bar he got up with a sigh to grab a few more weights and moved to fasten them onto the bar "Pretty soon i'll have to take off weights instead of adding them" he grinned and finished, the added weights boosting the weight up to a around 95 kilograms before he slid down under the bar again, reaching up to grip the bar tightly, his fingers flexing a few times to ensure that he hand a firm grip before he braced his back against the bench and lifted to bar up with little trouble, however the newly added weight obviously taking it's toll, before he lowered it down again after measuring the weight.

Breathing out heavily after the lift he shrugged slightly "Well you know most of whats going on, same old shit on a different day" he chuckled softly "been going through the data on the upcoming arrival to make sure it's all gonna go as planed, just as you taught me" he grinned over at her "other than that just trying to get time for my training when off duty".

Ever since the "event" there hadn't been many specialists in various subjects around, this meant that many trades and so on would have to be "rediscovered", they did of course have huge amount of data in their mainframes but it was becoming a learning by doing process. Deacon had trained himself in martial arts and therefor he didn't really use a certain style, it was a mix of everything he found useful and as time passed he developed his own unique style of fighting.

"Senator, the contingent from Helios will be landing soon and our own team will be docking at Helios in moments. Shall I tell them to disperse Oberon's potion upon arrival or shall we wait until they've settled into their new surroundings?"

Shadows ensconced the room, leaving the Senator's identity a mystery as his secretary stood in a pool of light when speaking with him. It was rather cliched but the ominous atmosphere still achieved the desired effect.

"Yes, tell them to begin immediately it is not as if any major effects will come upon them until few days, anyways."

"Shooting Star, this Artemis 1. Shooting Star, this Artemis 1. You are about T minus ten minutes from arrival. How are you holding up over there?"

Yuen looked around at the crew. Three people had thrown up, five were asleep, and the other two were playing Tiddlywinks. An interesting feat when the chips kept insisting on floating just a bit in the reduced gravity.

"Artemis 1, this is Shooting Star. Everything's aces up here. Entering lunar gravitational feild now."

It was interesting. She'd spent three weeks memorizing the layout of this specific control panel and five months helping debrief everyone else on their exact tasks. If this all went smoothly, they should all be able to do this stuff in their sleep. It was more a matter of flipping switches and pressing buttons, than actually being able to pilot these things.

It was a damn good thing every action went out as planned or else they'd probably be dead instead of filing into a room right about now. Unlike everyone else Yuen had been wired for sound through out the entire trip. Combine that with the little sleep she gotten the night before and it was rather hard to be as impressed as her mates with their new surroundings.

She did have to admit that the last three rooms and hallways they'd been guided through weren't designed like the ones on Helios though, but it wasn't like they'd actually seen anything outside of textured white walls and queer little red pills they were told was to prevent their immune systems from immediately being attacked by this new environment.

Filing into chairs, they all sat around the table, waiting for a debriefing of some sort or another.
