The winds this time of year pierced several layers if you weren't prepared. Eddie turned his head into the wind as he whipped past them in a gust. Instantly, he saw Elizabeth hug herself to keep warm. The poor girl wasn't wearing much as it was unseasonably warm during the day today, but the sun took it all away when it went down.
Eddie didn't hesitate; he slipped his coat off, glad for his hoodie underneath, and slid it around Elizabeth's shoulders. "Here. Take this. You look like you're freezing..."
Eddie walked along with her, jamming his hands into his pockets to keep his hands warm as they neared the Student Center. It was a handy building built on this side of the campus. With the school being up in the hills, it wasn't the most pedestrian friendly so the Union was a 20 minute walk down the hill. The Center served the same role without having to cross campus.
Eddie pulled the door open for Elizabeth, behaving like he always did, but part of him wondered if he should have. Did she open doors for him now? Did he still act like a gentleman in front of people? How do the social expectations play into their relationship now?
Eddie followed Elizabeth inside, still wrestling with those questions. He was on autopilot, using her presence in his peripheral vision to keep walking, and was in danger of walking past the pizza place.
