I was amazed at how he could juggle along with the rhythm of the music - and how the heck could he do that thing where he throws the balls behind his back and up over his shoulder? It must be so hard to get the right angle!

I used to be an amateur juggler... I was so jealous of guys who could do those tricks and make them look effortless, just a smile and a easy fluid movement and the balls fly at their command.

homeschooling takes a lot less time and effort than most people think... children who aren't exposed to huge amounts of TV/video games are quite curious and natural learners... we are homeschooling all day long... folding laundry (what color is that one?) or cooking (1/3 cup of flour... how many of these would I need if I wanted a whole cup?) or just playing (Look, Mom, a BUG! ) but I do have a more formal program we follow, too... they're young still (4&5) and we have lots of fun with it. But learning is fun for most kids until "school" becomes "work" around 3rd grade... homeschooling kids usually don't experience that shift.

As for whether it's common... it's becoming more and more common. But it's not typical.
