A Lovely Riddle

The Cube is a game of imagination and more...

It begins like this: It's best to close your eyes and imagine what you have read. See a picture in your head that is distinctively yours. There is no wrong or right way to any of this.

Part one is...

The Desert

Imagine a desert landscape.

It is utterly simple.

A horizon line,

Sand. Sky.

Part two....

The Cube

In this desert landscape is a cube.

See it. Describe it. (here if you like or on paper. But at some point, I will have to know what your cube looks like.)

What size is it?
Where is it in the desert?
What is it made of?

Describe the cube you see.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
I will go on with the other parts soon....
It is the son of water, but if water touches it, it dies.
Ohhhhhhhh where is my daughter!!!! She is marvelous at these!:kiss:
I'm working on it, pagen. lol
The cube is around the size of a two storey building, and it's made of reflective green glass. It's in the centre of an oasis, set between dunes and palm trees, with a small stream meandering past it, making the oasis lush.
You are getting too far ahead... LOL
You are an over-achiever, aren't you?
lmao
Part three...
The Ladder
In this landscape, as well as the cube, there is also a ladder.
Describe it: It's size, position and what it's made of.
In other words, where is it in relation to your cube?
(It might help to draw this as a picture for yourself.)
Part four
The Horse
In this desert there is also a horse.
Describe it.
What kind of horse is it?
What size? What color?
Where is it in relation to the cube and the ladder?
What is it doing?
My cube won't behave..
I had an onyx cube, with silver edges. Like the edges were silvergilt. I had it in the foreground, and I was thinking that it was about the size of a two room, four man tent. And then it sort of morphed to solid sliver edges, like a frame with deep bluey- black coloured sides and roof, made of silk.
Part five
The Storm
Somewhere in this landscape is a storm.
Describe it.
Where is it?
What kind of storm is it?
How does it affect or not affect the cube, the ladder and the horse?
And lastly,
Part six
The Flowers
Finally, in this desert, there are flowers.
Describe them.
How many are there?
What kind and what color?
Where are they in relation to the cube, the ladder, the horse and the storm?
Be as descriptive and imaginative as you like, with this game.
The more you are, the more it will tell about you about you.
Interesting... LOL.
Come back with every element. And be very descriptive when you do. :heart:
so I had a wooden ladder, laying on it's side, in front of the cube. The horse is one of those itty bitty mini horses, dappley grey and cute. It's standing off to the right, peeking inside the tent/cube/thing.
The storm is on the horizon, off to the left, but the wind from the storm is starting to blow.
edited cause once again,my fingers went faster than my brain...
The ladder is metal, and attached to a fire engine, so it's hydraulic and can reach quite far. It (along with the fire engine) are parked in the shade of the cube. Don't want a hot fire engine!
The horse is browing along the bank of the stream. It's black, but with a white star on it's forehead and white forelocks. It's an Arabian stallion (what other kind of horse would you want in the desert?)
Far in the distance is a sand storm, with the distant lightening occasionally flashing off the mirrored sides of the glass cube. The horse and the ladder are unaffected, although occasionally the horse will prick up its ears at the sound of thunder.
Daisies. Sorry, the horse has been busy eating them! *grin*
Um... seriously, I guess some rushes around the little stream, and some white water lillies in the pool of the oasis. There's grass along the edge of the oasis, and yellow buttercups and white daisies amongst the grass for the horse to browse on. Oddly enough, the ladder is ignoring the flowers, but you can see the colours of the lillies and grasses reflected in the mirrored sides of the cube.
why does the thought of Fungi's cube scare me?
OOh, flowers.. I know that lupine and lillies of the valley won't grow in a desert, but I have them there. They're planted in between the rungs of the ladder, like a flower garden would be. I also have those glossy green plants with the tiny red flowers, they're called hearts and flowers. There are 7 spaces on the ladder, so we have the h and f on the end spaces. The next inner spaces are lupine, then comes lillies. Then we have lupine in the center again.
The flowers are blowing and bobbing in the growing wind, and the horses tail and mane are too.
edited cause the homophone fairy attacked while I wasn't paying attention.
Very pretty pictures you have both word painted here.
The Cube is you.
And only you can tell what that means.
It's size, consistancy, and place in earth and sky all reflect how you see, feel and place yourself.
You both have picked rather large and hard cubes, although the silk on snow's cube sends a soft message.
Large cubes can indicate a large ego... or a mulitplicity of interests. It can also indicate introspection and self exploration.
What is it made of? Is it hard and solid? Or is it clear? and what does the say to you about you?
Where in the desert is it? Is it hovering above the ground? Or is it dug into the sand? Are you down to earth? Are you dug in? Confident? Defensive? On a rise? Above it all? Are you reaching for the stars and floating above?
Is it on the horizon? Signifying the tangible and practical reality. Below the horizon or below the sand? Representing the unconscious, earthy, family, tradition and your past?
How close the cube is to the front of the scene represents how close you feel to others, how close you allow them to get to you.... How much space you need.
Your cube is black... you are stylish, mysterious, drawn to the dark side.
Fabric... pliable, domestic, cultured.
Green cube... opitimistic, hopeful, nature loving.
And shiny... achievement oriented, attention getting, bright.
Glass-like... romantic, imaginative, poetic.
So I'm a tough yet soft cube, mysterious and stylish. Probably have the ego, but I'd like to think it's introspection and multiplicity of interests. It is kind of scary to think that Fungi the Dark Rider is more romantic than me. How romantic does that not make me!?
Hmmm... Large ego, I can see out but no one can see in, hard but hollow inside? *chuckle*
The cube is fairly close to the foreground, so I guess that means I allow people close to me.
Green, shiny AND glass like... I just needed to throw in some black and fabric and I would have gotten them all. *chuckle*
The ladder is your friends and the most mysterious element to this game.
The ladder, your friends, could be helping you reach the highest heights or could be "laying down" on the job.
Ladders also have a spiritual aspect... as in, Jacob's ladder connecting heaven and earth. Buddists believe as their souls evolve, they climb a rainbow ladder with 7 rungs, each in a different color.
Okay so if your ladder represents your friends....
Wooden ladder.... cultured, aristocratic, snobbish lol, educated.
Laying down... casual friends, dead beats? lol
Metal ladder... steadfast, dependable, straightforward
Ladder attached to the fire engine... helpful, cautious, prepared.
And if the ladder is taller than your cube, your friends are people you look up to. People who help you aspire to greater things.
So a metal ladder, laying down, but attached to a fire engine. Friends are casual, steadfast, helpful, and people who inspire me?
The horse is your lover.
She can carry you places you might never go, run away with you or from you, be docile or untamed. Where is your horse in relation to your cube? Is she nearby or standing aside of you, not holding you back but at your side?
Arabian and black... mysterious, elegant, nervous, proud
the white star... exotic, regal
Small... affectionate, cute
Standing off to the side (both of you)... supportive but not restrictive.
Yes... they have the potential to be high and raise you higher.
