a little overweight

Hello
I was wondering what is ment by the statement "a little overweight". I have seen that in the personal ad and I know that men will have a different idea than the women do. Being a guy I take that statement as about 20 lbs overweight. What do you women mean when you say that and what do you guys take it as. Or what is the weight catagory for this kind of stuff?

Love the stone thing! As for the personal ad question....Usually and I am not saying always people lie in them. So when someone says they are a little overweight it could be 5 pounds to 100 pounds depending in thier definition of the term.

Personally I think people so not care about the weight of people but what is inside of the person.

2.2046 is the number of Pounds in one Kilgram
at one standard Gravity. (Lb/Kg)

A hand is four inches. My dictionary defines it as "a linear measurement used for the height of horses equal to four inches."

If you don't want to be mistaken for a horse, you can use cubits. (An ancient maesurement based on the length of the forearm. Usually 17 to 21 inches.) You can esitmate it as 18 inches to make the math easier to convert from Feet. (1.5 Ft/Cubit)

I'd say about 5 stone more than me.... I weigh 10 stone and I'm male but that has always been my guess.

What is a stone exactly? I would LOVE to tell people my weight like that....it might make it seem less than it is, or something.

SJ,

haha I usually tell people what I weight in kilograms. Since I live in the states, many people just don't know the direct translation to pounds haha.
That way the number is smaller I love it. So someone will say.. "how much do you weigh" and I am like "58" and they are like "what?"
hee hee it is such great fun! I would like to try this "stone" thing however.. sounds intriguing.

Anyway, to answer the question.... as a woman when I talk about slightly overweight, I am usually thinking of a BMI of about 25 to 28?? Then after that I think of regular overweightedness. The thing is, numbers aren't everything. A lot of people weight more than the regular amount for their weight but they are body builders and stuff.......

Ummm 10 stone is about 63 kilo does that help... And if you think thats bad you want to try converting into pounds etc

It really isn't my fault I'm an aussie

Oh fuck...I didn't know I needed to do math computations to post on this board...ok, i'll try to figure it out!!

Thanks!

LOL@Jade...I know it!! I love fucking with people like that...when they don't have a damn clue what you are talking about.

Now, I have some homework to do...catch y'all later.

Sammyjo, if you like the whole "stone" thing use "hands" to describe how tall you are, too. That's a good one.

If someone bothers to mention that they're a little overweight in a personal add I'm thinking 50 pounds or more, at least -- male or female.

A stone is 14 pounds, sammyjo, so if you're 140 pounds, you're 10 stones. I dunno which sound less. <shrugs>

Just don't ask me to convert it to kilos!

As for me, I prefer the term "cuddly" to overweight. It just sounds so much more affectionate!

Ok...DCL I love that idea...how many hands tall are you? and give me the regular feet/inches thing, too...cuz then I can do my own conversions...I bet this one isn't in the chart, so I'll make one up and send it in to the math book authors.

I did get the kilo/pounds thing so, for the curious:

1 stone = 14 pounds
10 stone = 140 pounds (obviously, but we all can't be mathematicians like me!!)
10 stone = 63 kilo (approx)
63 kilo = 138 pounds {2.2046 * 63}(this is the computation don't know what the first number is...some sort of "math" thing)

Ok..whew..I hope I got that all straight. I wrote it all down...and now I've enlightened the world.

I love you guys!!!

(anyone confused yet!)

I'm not really sure what a little overweight is because if a person carries it well it doesn't matter but if you see something like that as a decription in a personal ad they just may be really big. It's kind of like someone setting you up on a blind date "they have a very good personality......"

Well I never desribe myself as a little overweight-I say I am shaped like a neolithic fertility goddess. As for better terms for rounder bodies here are a few:
My midwife put my weight down as Fluffy
My current doctor tried Zaftig-Blue cross and blue shield saw no humor in that
A former lover described me as ripe and toothsome(liked ripe toothsome freaked me out)
My son sums it up best when he calls me
"Bootiful,roundy mommy"
It is safe to assume that if someone puts slightly overweight they mean 25-50 pounds,I have many frinds who are booking close to 300 pounds who describe themselves as a little chubby.
I look like a tavern wench-not Zena but one of the larger woman serving flagons of ale.
Basic advice is to only pursue woman whose minds attract you, they will be sexual and alluring-their weight will be secondary-
(unless they can no longer leave the house and can only wear sheets, and clean themselves with a rag on a stick.)
