So, as a Litizen, how would you answer the four, infamous Passover Questions (modified for the AH, of course)?

Why are we eating crackers rather than bread?
What's with the horseradish? (Aka, why the bitter herbs?)
Why are we dunking stuff in salt water?
Why are we reclining rather than sitting up at the table?

All of which is trying to ask: "Why is this night different from all other nights?"

Any answers?

Why are we eating crackers rather than bread?

to mark the origins of the quote: "I wouldn't kick him/her out of bed for eating crackers."

What's with the horseradish? (Aka, why the bitter herbs?)

any well stocked bar like the one at Abs or the Naked Party needs bitters

Why are we dunking stuff in salt water?

well, you know Tom and VM... they live by the ocean and well, they have a hard time not bringing salt water to the table while wearing swim trunks and a scuba suit:rolleyes:

Why are we reclining rather than sitting up at the table?

to better enjoy the nakedness on display, of course

All of which is trying to ask: "Why is this night different from all other nights?"

well, now that you mention it, it's rather the same as any other night on the "Naked Party" thread.

*feeling very ancient and rabbinic*

You must know the story to know the answers, the history explains so much more than just a response.

Years and years ago, there was no hangout, no literotica, no internet. The world was held captive by words like "community morals" and being different, being unique meant you were an outcast. There were those, those brave ones who expressed their thoughts, who lived as they pleased. But they faced outrage and were persecuted for doing so.

But the world grew smaller as the internet grew larger. As technology came bit by bit, then people of like mind could be free to find others. And BBS's became websites, and slowly, with work and code, we were free to post smut, to write our stories, to hug one another and to have avatars of what we please.

These things, the crackers, the bitter herbs, the salt water, they remind us of were we have come from and where we are headed.

The crackers remind us, the humor will be dry, but it is easily consumed.

The horse radish reminds us there is bitterness in people, their own inner pain that they bring. With the freedom to find love we will also find pain, and now and again things will be bitter.

The salt water reminds us of parted waters, of oceans that are crossed, seas that we cross, countries and continents far away that are now on our screens and in our hearts.

We lay at the table, informally, casually, to remind us we are not rigid, we are not confined to sit tall and proper, though we can if we like. Here, in this place, in this time, we are free.

Liechiem.

Why are we eating crackers rather than bread?
The Sermon on the Mount took so long, the bread collapsed. Being Jewish, they baked it anyway instead of starting over, and invented crackers.

What's with the horseradish? (Aka, why the bitter herbs?)
Horseradish comes from the Brassicaceae family and has been used as an accompaniment ever since GB1 fessed up that he didn't like Broccoli.

Why are we dunking stuff in salt water?
Salt water is a known antidote for the streaming eyes and stuffy nose induced by the damn horseradish.

Why are we reclining rather than sitting up at the table?
Someone spiked the salt water.

Why is this night different from all other nights?
It's not. It's the same as the same night last year, and probably next year.

:D Good call! I see you've been studying up on Passover dinners ;)

...because you're weird?

We don't do that kind of stuff over here.
