It's almost 3:30 and I don't want to sleep. I've turned off the television and the room is lit by the glow of the computer monitor and a solitary cinnamon candle on the desk making the shadows behind me dance languidly. The sultry voice and spine-melting piano of Diana Krall is wafting from my computer speakers. it's so very quiet outside - no traffic going by and even the dogs next door have stopped barking and settled down. I've a cup of hot chocolate by me, as the weather's starting to turn just a little bit chilly after the rain and balminess of the early evening. There's just a hint of steam rising from the cup, highlighted perfectly by the monitor and candle light. The smell is simply decadent. The taste of it is even moreso.
It's just a good night. I just wanted to share it.
