God ,I hope my son doesnt get stuck with a lot of mean teachers this year....I mean last year sucked..literally...

I am gonna do my very best to stay on top of things..and attend all PTO meetings as well...I so wanna see him Not hate school..

I mean I know for a fact that teaching isnt an easy job and especially now days..with stuff that happens like at Columbine and all...and I know kids can be quite the cocky lil asses themselves ...on the other hand ..most recently I have seen more than afew Machavellian-type teachers whojust LOVE the 'control' they possess over kids and sometimes take it a Bit too far..and i definately DONt believe in humilihating a child ..thats just wrong ..

I remember you telling us about the teacher.

Years ago I taught in a K-8 building. Every September there were at least 6 parents in the office to talk to the principal. Half wanted their children out of my class, the other half wanted them in my class. Neither side could understand the other. He was nice enough to grant their wishes.

I'm strict about discipline and other stuff, but we do a lot of interesting things and have too much fun. One of my favorite phrases is, "Stop laughing, school isn't supposed to be fun!"

You are the best sort of teacher then DGO..... kids have to be kids and have fun... but they have to know the limits also. There is a very fine line and a lot of teachers dont know where it is.

I am still in touch with one of primary school teachers.. she taught me when I was 11 and 12. She came to my wedding 7 years ago.

I would have loved for my daughters to have had her (if I have any!!)... but the school is closing down this year.

I've taught children of my former students. It's always a pleasure to teach the next generation........... I'll quit before I teach the third generation. LOL
