Tianna shined the flashlight into the darkened corner, gasping at the eerie sound that had made her jump about ten feet into the air. She silently sent up a curse to her friend, Mac, for talking her into this so called ghost investigation. ‘People do these things all the time and make half a ton of money just selling the footage. Let’s try and cash in on this. That house up on Maple Drive is empty. We could try looking there. That Anders kid disappeared while he was living here, remember?’ She rolled her eyes to herself, wishing that she had told her best friend to fuck off but her she was, with a camera and a sound recorder, looking for Casper. She felt like an idiot.
There was a noise in the back area of the house. Tianna knew it wasn’t Mac because her friend had gone to get them a pizza while they did some ghost hunting. She grabbed the camera and started easing her way to the back where the noise had come from but when she got there, no one was there. “Ok, this is a little creepy.” Tianna was not the type of girl to believe in the supernatural. She was a solid academic type who only believed in what she could feel and see. Mac was her complete opposite, which made them perfect as best friends. They complimented each other’s quirks.
She stood in the small sitting room, trying to figure out where the noise could have come from. It was likely an animal might have come inside since this was the country. It happened all the time. It was why Tianna’s dad was always as busy as an exterminator. She gasped again as the noise came from upstairs. She slowly crept up the stairway to where the bedrooms were in the old house. The darkness was starting to get to her because she could have sworn she heard someone or something.
All those crazy stories Mac told must have been sending her imagination into overdrive. Tianna walked over to the doorway of one of the bedrooms, shining the light inside like a cop to see if anyone might be there and saw no one. Another noise distracted her for only a minute and strong arm circled her small body, pulling her into the bedroom. Tianna was up against a wall, being pinned by a very hard body and looking up into the most beautiful eyes she had ever seen.
