A Few Questions

Alright, I'll start by saying I'm a 19 year old male, and I have some questions.

1. I want to shave the hair around my cock, but the hair on my chest and stomach reach down there. I feel that if I just shave my pubic hair, it will look awkward with the hair from my upper body. Is there some sort of rule for this? lol

2. I'm a little overweight. Not obese or anything, but I could definitely cut the pounds. I heard a while back, from some magazine, that for a certain amount of pounds one is overweight, one loses an inch off their penis size. Is there any truth to this?

I'm pretty insecure about my appearance, although most women that I've talked to don't see anything wrong with me. I guess I'm just shy. But anyway, can anyone help me out? Thanks.

I'm not sure about shaving etiquette... I prefer fairly hairy all over (but not on the back please :cattail:).

So about the cock size. Your size is your size as far as I know (in so far as it doesn't get bigger or smaller unless there's some sort of huge hormone imabalance) whether your skinny or normal or fat or whatever. The difference will be the way it looks. Any penis is going to look bigger with less fat surrounding it.

Having said that it's not the size that counts - it's how you use it (cliche alert...). That's really true. By the sounds of your post, you're not really worried about the actual size of your penis but the way that it looks, so I'm assuming that you're not so small that you're incapable of sex... I would say that you have nothing to worry about.

If a lady is going to want to sleep with you she's going to be attracted to you and your body type and may well have had experience and know the body issues that you face and the effect of a larger frame on the size that a penis seems.

Remember that everybody has body issues! The girl will no doubt be thinking about how big her bum looks, small her boobs look, whether you can tell she hasn't shaved that morning... I would say just do your thing. As long as the woman's happy and you too who cares what it looks like? :rose:

There are no rules that I'm aware of. If you want to shave, do it! Don't be overly concerned about what others might think.

try shaving man, ive just started doing it again, your balls get soo sensitive. You will feel a little more confident also as u feel neat and tidy down there (well i did anyway)

I've heard that shaving can also make the penis look bigger which would boost your confidence. The more you think about it the more interconnected the issues are.

Do what you want, be who you want to be and be confident about it.

What you can do is shave your cock and balls and trim the top part (where the pubic bone is).
That way you'll match all over. It will feel much better to you and you'll feel more confident. I agree with the other poster.

I wanted to comment that I actually prefer a man with trimmed pubes to a man that shaves completely - you can use the same thing that people use to trim their beards and facial hair and such. Clippers?

If you want to shave, go for it. But, yeah, it's going to look kinda funny if your stomach and chest are all fuzzy, and then POW, nothing. You may want to consider not shaving your privates totally bald, but rather trimming them very, very short, and trying to blend into your lower stomach.

Also, when you shave down there, ingrown hairs are a very common problem. And it can itch like mad, which is not fun. If you're just going to trim it very very short, no worries. But if you're going bald, use a sensitive skin shaving cream. It'll help to cut down on the ingrown hairs.

2. I'm a little overweight. Not obese or anything, but I could definitely cut the pounds. I heard a while back, from some magazine, that for a certain amount of pounds one is overweight, one loses an inch off their penis size. Is there any truth to this?

I don't know where you got this ridiculous bit of misinformation, but nothing could be further from the truth. Your penis size is one of the few things that does not change, no matter how much weight you lose or gain. Period.

I'm pretty insecure about my appearance, although most women that I've talked to don't see anything wrong with me. I guess I'm just shy. But anyway, can anyone help me out? Thanks.

If you're insecure in the way you look, women can tell. While some find it cute, most see it as a sign to stay away. Be confident in yourself. And if someone doesn't like you, then that's their problem. It took me a long time to figure that out. And when you ask a girl out, the worst thing she can do is say, "no." And even then, most women try to let people down gently. Just move on, it's no biggie.

Good luck!

I think that trimming it will look better. I find shaved genitals to look a bit alien and one of the things I like about manliness in general is body fuzz. Each to their own though. I'd also second Darcie O's advice about using cream and looking after your skin. As a woman who shaves her pubes about twice a week I can tell you that the last thing you want down there is ingrown hair.

If you were really obese and your stomach hung very low over your hips the pressure it exerts plus the fat beneath your skin could cause your penis to look slightly retracted. I used to work as a nurse and have seen it on a few morbidly obese patients during the joys of spongebathing and assisting with catheters etc. This is an extreme case though and if your weight problem is anything short of life threatening, you really shouldn't worry yourself.

Appearance is half mother nature and half attitude. Jack Nicholson looks like shit these days and he's still getting laid. (ok... nature, attitude and cash) My point is that if you feel unattractive you should make more effort rather than give up. Wear clothes that are cut well and suit you, keep yourself well groomed. Most importantly, believe that you deserve the same respect from people that your better looking friends take for granted. Fake it till you make it. If you want to diet or start exercising more then do so but do it for your own peace of mind and wellbeing.

totally agree.....

but he is only 19 yrs old and he has to learn not to give a shit what others think.

you are better off just trimming it with a pair of scissors.

I shaved for a while... it's kind of sexy at first, and it does make your dick look bigger, but it's a pain in the ass to maintain. I'd recommend buying a beard trimmer with adjustable guard sizes - you can probably get one at the local pharmacy for $25 or so. With one of these, you can trim the hair on your shaft and balls quite close (even if you are going to shave, I'd recommend a close trim before you actually break out the razor), then use gradually larger guards to fade your pubes into your chest hair. It looks quite natural, still complements your cock size, and (most importantly, for me) keeps your partner from getting long ass pubes stuck in his/her mouth when going down on you.

I use an electric trimmer. I tried shaving with a razor once but the razor burn and fear of slicing my sac open are too much for me. Also, shave it all. It will look freaky looking with bald nads and a hairy chest.

The only way it will "get smaller" is if your gut is large enough to hang over it.

Don't worry about the size of your dick. I've been told by several women that most men lie about their size .... but I guess they could have been trying to make me feel better about how small mine is.
According to the Kinsey report I'm smaller than average, but there's only one woman I've slept with who I didn't manage to make cum one way or another, and they've all been happy to go down on me. So size has never stopped me enjoying sex.:D

If you have issues with body image, there's nothing wrong with loosing a bit of weight. (And I'm not being judgemental here.) If you're fit the chances are you'll haave better stamina in the sack, you'll feel sexier (which as long as you're not over confident can be a great aphrodisiac) and, if your local gyms are anything like the ones I used to go to, they're a pretty good place to meet women. And even if you don't pluck up the courage to talk to them, you can alway lust after them, dripping with sweat, with their bouncing boobs and lycra pulled tight into their crothces ... sorry ... drifted off there for a moment ...

If you want to get rid of body hair, go for it!
If you don't like it, it grows back.:D
I'd agree with those that suggest starting with just trimming it. I wouldn't be without my beard trimmer!
If you like that shave (but go carefully till you're well practiced).
And if you like that, don't rule out getting waxed or something like Nair. There are Nair type products specifically for men, but I'd stick to waxing for your crotch and crack (chemicals + genitals =) and get someone else to do it - I got a really sore neck trying to do it myself  And waxing or Nair won't leave stubble and lasts for weeks.

Most of all - try to learn to like yourself
