A few questions regarding content restrictions

I'm working on an erotic story that would have a number of horror/fantasy elements in it, and there are certain things about it that I'm not sure would fit into the rules, so I thought I'd ask here:

1) Suppose someone is turned into a vampire at a young age (i.e. under 18). They would retain the body of a minor for all eternity, but their mind would develop into an adult's with time. Would a sex scene involving such a character violate the rules regarding no minors? Technically this character would be over 18 (several centuries over 18, as a matter of fact) but her body would look like it was under, so I'm not really sure if it would be allowed or not.

2) Would a scene where a minor is turned into a vampire without sex being involved (the sensation would be described as pleasurable, but in a way that's only erotic by metaphor) violate the not-under-18 rule?

3) As far as the rule prohibiting bestiality goes, how would that apply to a human being who turns into an animal? If my shapeshifter turned into a dog, would it be acceptable for him to have sex with a woman? What if he turned into a dog and had sex with another dog?

I'd like to find out whether this story would meet Literotica's standards, and how I might change it to fit said standards, before I continue writing it, so feedback would be much appreciated.

If you begin by simply stating "I am ancient, or I am 700 years old" the original age will not matter as far a legal strictures go.

providing that no sex is involved, and the language is careful the rule will not be violated

touchy, but if you allude to the changes or to the sex while changed rather than describing sex with animal organs you should be safe.

I wonder how important the under 18 age would be to the actual story, is there a critical reason the heroine cannot be 19 when she is changed.

Is there a NEED for near bestiality? Does it enhance the story or is the purpose to actually attempt to slip past the rules.

That's kinda what all that sounded like to me, to be honest. Some just can't resist it, for some reason.

1. The vampire would appear to be under 18. Therefore any story that includes bodily descriptions would bend or break the rules. This seems like an attempt to show underage sex despite the restrictions that are there to protect this community.

2. Erotic by metaphor IS erotic. That would break the rules.

3. A shapeshifter (or a werewolf) is a mythical creature. Sex with non-existent animals is allowed as fantasy. However a shapeshifter as a dog IS a dog therefore that would be barred by the rules.

These restrictions are there to frustrate the attempts of those who want to close Literotica and similar sites down. They are not put there at the whim of the management but as a genuine attempt to keep the stories within adult guidelines and not break the law.

Trying to push at the limits of those guidelines is dangerous for you, if you are resident in the US, and for the whole Literotica community. Please think long and hard before writing and posting anything that could be interpreted as underage sex or beastiality. The consequences of your 'artistic freedom' could be disastrous for all of us.

I was planning on a vampire trapped under 18 because I was hoping to go for something where she became a vampire the day before her first day of high school. I could possibly rework that to be the day before her first day of college however and still get the same general tone across. As far as the shapeshifter thing goes, I was looking for something to get across that a particular character is pretty degenerate, and changing into an animal to have sex with someone seemed like something that would get that across, but I can definitely see how that would be rejected.

Og, I find this difficult to agree with. There are many stories on Lit with 18+ females who are shaved of all pubic hair, dress in school uniforms and generally behave like 12-y-os for the titllation of the men in the stories. If what you say is true, then surely all shaven women would be banned, and especially if they wore child-like clothing?

In my opinion, for what it is worth, they should be - unless the story makes it very clear that they are adults playing games.

I do not run Literotica, nor do I set the parameters.

What worries me, and should worry all of us, is the moral crusade in the US against all pornography and erotica. Literotica is vulnerable to attack from groups in the US who do not see a need for any adult pictures or stories because they see them as 'sinful'.

There is a fine line to be drawn between taking reasonable precautions against those who hate everything we stand for and allowing artistic freedom to flourish. The rules of Literotica allow us to exist.

I do not think that breaking or bending those rules is justified because the consequences could be the end of Literotica. There are other places with different and more relaxed rules. If a story is close to breaking the rules I would appreciate it if it were to be posted elsewhere and NOT on Lit.

I regret that the rules are necessary. In the UK sex between 16 year-olds is legal and there would be no problem with a story involving 16 year-olds. In parts of the US even stories about 18 year-olds are against the law if they involve acts that are criminal in that state...

It is preferable that authors accept that Literotica's rules exist to protect this community and to ensure our continued existence. It would be unfair to all of us if this site was shut down by the FBI for the 'misdeeds' of a few pushing at the limits. Under-18 sex is classed as Child Abuse and Paedophilia by many. If Literotica is seen as a haven for paedophiles it will not last long.

Respecting other people's sensitivities will help us to survive as the vibrant and very active community that we are.

I ask that authors behave responsibly. If the story is not in accordance with Lit's rules, either modify it so that it is, or post it elsewhere that allows such stories.

Very well-said, Og. :rose:

What parts of the U.S. are you talking about? I know Canada has a bunch of restrictions involving minors in erotic fiction, but I wasn't aware that there were any in America. Of course there are a whole mess of contradictory laws concerning the Internet, mainly because it's so new that there's no sound ruling on whether a website constitutes public or private property, but what you said sounded like there are regions of the U.S. where simply writing underage erotic fiction is illegal. I'd like to know where those regions are, cause the existence of such laws is news to me.

Very Interesting

I've just finished (but haven't submitted) a Non-Erotic story where a fellow of fifteen talks with a much older woman about his sexual desires. They don't have sex, and she encourages him not to have sex (of any kind) with any woman until he and she are sure they are in love. Although this story doesn't say anything about the young man's future, we learn from another story that he remains a virgin until age 20, when he meets his wife.

The two discuss the book Forever, published in 1975 and reprinted in 2000, where two seventeen-year-olds fall in love and have sex a number of times before they turn 18. The sex scenes are very steamy in that book. But it's available in some mainstream bookstores, and generations of young women have turned to it when thinking of falling in love and having sex. I've given copies to several women friends who had teenage daughters.

The question is: Can you discuss the facts of life on Literotica? The woman, a police officer, knows very well about teenage sex; she's probably counseled many kids who were pregnant, had sexually transmitted diseases or both. (She says she will counsel a female friend of the young man's, a girl with a reputation.) This story does not advocate underage people having sex; it does acknowledge that kids, especially boys, have hormones and engage in sexual behaviors. It also states that teenagers can be pressured into risky sexual behavior by their own feelings or by outside influences.

Can this story as described fit on Literotica? I've shown it to my editor and had the best response I've ever received from her (and she's Canadian, and subject to their obscenity laws). I won't try to post it until I get comments from other writers who have or did have teenage children (including one woman who created these characters). I want it to be an informative tale, showing people discussing sex and making promises to themselves.

Commentary is very welcome.

The weirdest part of this whole business is that there are States in the US where it is legal to marry at 14, but illegal to write about such a couple's sex life during the first four years of their married life!

Is Lolita to be banned? Are copies of it to be burned?

Is Romeo and Juliet to be banned? Are theatre companies who perform it to be persecuted?

The complete stupidity of the present situation is rivalled only by the McCarthy era, and the State which has a law saying that pi=3 !

The rules are those set by the owners of this site. No one has sex or even thinks about sex until they are 18 when they suddenly metamorphose into incredibly horny beings who have sex at every opportunity.

I think that some of us are unaware of the strength of the opposition to everything we do here. If the owners leave a chink of opportunity, some group or other will try to exploit it to close Literotica for ever.

Please do not push at the limits. They may seem ridiculous to you but they are there to protect this site.

As examples of what can happen, dozens of Yahoo's adult groups have been closed for failure to check that all group members are legally of age and have their age posted in the correct place. Many active communities have died as a result of pressure on Yahoo.
