It had been some years since we had heard anything about distant relatives. Our mother made a point of not openly discussing it with us. We were to ask no questions, it was as if we had no family outside of one another. Things had carried on like this through our formative years. It had always been just the four of us, I don't remember anything about my father. We had made the best of our situation and confided in one another, it was almost as if we were hiding, but from what?
Early in the summer, while working a part time job, I recieved a phone call from my older sister. She said i must come home, immediately. So of course I explained my situation to the manager and clocked out early for the day. Upon arriving home I found my sister's huddled together in the living room floor. I pleaded with them to tell me what's wrong, asked them where our mother is. A letter set beneath them, picking it up I saw a crest, our family name written over it.
Naming myself heir, to a vast fortune, a small town in Europe. My mind raced as I looked up from the letter, our mother, standing over the sink peering out of the kitchen window. Clutching a handkerchief with same crest, she'd clearly been crying as I approached her. Just an idea, would love to further it with someone.
