She took the pillows and blankets and followed him down below and watched as he settled into a pile of gold. For just a moment she simply watched him as he closed his eyes and grinned at his wink before she scrambled to make a bed for herself into the spot he had made for her. Willow couldn’t say that sleeping on a pile of gold was comfortable, but she wiggled into it and into him until she could hear his heartbeat and felt the warmth of his body infiltrate her. With a soft sigh she snuggled in, pulling the blankets up around her.
Sleep came quickly enough. Willow was exhausted. It had been a long day and had been filled with more information and things she had never encountered before. She remembered when she had first learned about the dragons and what they meant to the world. She had never thought of them as a threat. They were stuff mystic fantasies were made of. She had always been drawn to them, but she had never thought she would find herself mated to one. Unconsciously, she turned her body into his and this time, deep sleep claimed her. No more thoughts. Just sleep.
