I feel my skin thickening already. A few shy of 7000 views and some anonymous feedback later and I'm not sure if I should laugh or scream.

To those who gave me constructive criticism, thank you so much.

To those who gave me compliments, thank you so much. :rose:

To the idiots  my sweet ass. Your obviously ignorant brains are far to little to appreciate anything but that. I'd say go fuck yourselves but you probably enjoy your own foot up your ass. :nana:

Here's hoping those lovely anonymous people don't keep you from writing more. :) I try not to get nervous over those, personally. Sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn't. At least maybe it'll help me develop that thick skin too! :D

They won't. I run into plenty of jerks in everyday life. Thanks.

I feel your pain, and your frustration. Be that as it may . . . .

Get over it. We all suffer the attacks of trolls. Lashing out in this fashion does no good, because they can barely read as it is. And if they spent even a minute in the AH, they would suffer terminal aneurisms as a result.

Keep writing, keep reading, and worry not about those mindless morons. Their votes will not count in the long run, their comments can be erased. All in all, their value to you is equal to their shriveled-up . . . um, minds.

Unfortunately, there is evidence that some trolls respond with 1 votes to some of the threads in the AH. Instead of reasoned argument they trash a posters complete story list.

Indeed. It's happened to me twice, those being the only times I've ever reported unfair voting and asked for a sweep.

Troll Votes are annoying, but I love any and all comments good or bad. I thrive on hearing what people think of me and my stories, or anything that I do. I live for the reactions, whatever they may be.

Here’s a thought. Two voter types. One – published authors with identification tied to any comments. The other, Trolls. No ID needed, and, subsequently, no importance given other than general readership.

While there's no way to prove it, I'd lay odds that the vast majority of readers on Lit don't frequent the boards or write stories. If you're not writing for them, what's the point of posting your stories here?

(Not trying to be argumentative, BTW. Just honestly curious.)

Happened to me, as well. I've also had people I've disagreed with on the boards respond with a blanket of one votes.

Quite true. I agree. But (you knew there'd be one... grin) in a perfect world (just the other side of Venus I think) we all want to know what our reading public thinks... to a point. I've read a few threads where authors complain or comment on readers trying to direct the story through comments (If he does that, she does that, and it won't go where I want). That is so silly (and stiffling), what happens to the creative intention of the author? Anyway, its really just a matter of knowing if they enjoyed or not. Should an authors attempt, or effort, be market driven?

At the same time, if someone has 40 or 50 posts, I've read a few, and really enjoy their writing, admire, and recognize their ability, I would really like to know what they think. In depth. Plot, structure, anything they spend their valuable time trying to tell me (other than 'that's a piece of shit').

BTW - how do you get the smiley's into the text here....

PS - maybe it should be a little like a chat/cam room with different rules for different levels. Authors, readers and idiots (that'd be me I think). Anyway, one rule might definately be 'no directing'. Is it about that? Am I missing something? Else????? lol

When you post, there should be a box of smilies to the right of the text box. Click on one to put it in your post.

You may need to go into your User CP and change a setting to "advanced" If you don't see formatting controls above where you type posts, and smilies to the right of it, then you're in simple mode.

Of course, you can just memorize the little text codes that produce them too.

semi-colon-right parenthese is ;) for example. Or colon-lower case p :p

Going to find my CP (Car Park? Candy Pack? Cothes Puter-uper?... ahhh... Control Panel). I love this guy :p.

I feel the same was about ATM (at the moment, automatic teller machine, anti-tank missile, ass to mouth) ;)

Thank you

I appreciate everyone's comments. Some here have helped me a lot without even knowing it. I lurked for a long time, wondering what would happen if I submitted one of my stories.

I'm going to start editing Honeymoon Cabin. It's the followup to Wife Christina. A number of the comments I've received have asked for more of this couple. One thing for sure, I'm going to work on the dialogue a lot.

I might even write a story just for the guy who begged for more stuff on panties. Whoever you are, if I do it and it gets posted, find yourself a good pair of whatever turns you on the most and enjoy :D

Again, thanks to everyone that helped me whether you knew you were helping or not. :)

Hey MJL - I feel we have a special relationship now, so I'm gonna ask you a favour... I'm a little strapped for cash right now, so I was wondering if you could get in touch with the panties guy and tell him I'll supply used and un-used for 10 quid a pair (give or take depending on length of wear etc...)

:D

ps- seriously though - well done for taking the plunge and good luck with the next one...

Alas he's one of those anonymous posters V. Sorry.

Um I just wondered, how much is a quid?

Thanks for clearing that up from another ignorant American... Uh... Texan.... :rose:

I will have to agree with you, there, Og. After posting my comment on this thread last night, several of my stories got bombed and one troll left a ridiculous critique on one of them.

Ah, well . . . the vote got swept and deleted the comment. There really wasn't anything valid in it.

Anon strikes again...

PC on my competition entry "Sister Valentine".

Why Not Identify Yourself As British?
01/30/07 By: Anonymous in The U.S., By God, of A
Because the overwhelming majority of them are wimps. The only one I can think of who doesn’t seem to be is The Wanderer, but he has a fulltime job and can’t write as often as the wimpy Brit “writers.”

A nicely balanced comment...

The PCs complaining that my profile doesn't say I'm English are puzzling. If they actually looked at my profile it says "I write in British English" but expecting sense from anonymous is usually futile.

Og

PS. I don't believe that "Anonymous in the U.S., By God, of A" is typically American. Assholes are found in every country.

Another noob question, what does that mean, the vote got swept?

Thanks in Advance
