Price of gas at the pumps today.

Does this mean that Bush's approval rating will be going up?

Our newspaper ran a story today about the price of gas being below $2 per gallon for the first time in 2 years in our area. :)

No, because this is an obvious ploy by his big oil buddies to get his numbers up, but we're on to him now...

Wait'll Woodward gets finished with him!

It was $2.51 in Staten Island yesterday, but here in NW Jersery, it's about $2.17.

It is $2.09 at the local Stop and Rob. Nine miles north it is $1.94. Filled up there yesterday.

The only way for his rating to make any sort of material positive gain would for him to resign.

Yeah but we have good roads

It's not entirely the tax, although it's hefty. At least we get good roads as a result. The pothole ratio is relatively low. The roads in Indiana, as a comparison are horrible.

The tax added on, what, .10-.15 cents per gallon? I can't remember. It's odd driving to Oregon and seeing lower gas prices with FULL SERVICE no less!

WA State tax 34 cents per gallon Federal tax 18.4 cents a gallon

So if you have an average in WA state of 2.62 per gallon and subtracted the 34 cents, it would still be $2.28.

This site shows the state tax rate by each state. Funny that WA isn't all that unusual in the level of taxes.

Petroleum for the West Coast comes from Alaska so our gas ends up being more expensive maybe.

Thank you. However it washes out, we're still damned expensive and it doesn't make sense to me because our prices raised because of Hurricane Katrina.

Yeah, not to me either

Apparently we only respond to the market when the prices should go up. Prices of oil go down and we still have high prices. They have not budged for weeks. Went up and stayed there.

But I drive a Corolla so I fill up maybe once every 15 days.

In Toronto? My ass. It's 86 here in Niagara.

Yes, in Toronto.....do you want me take a pic of my receipt???

Yeah that's it, I have nothing better to do than to lie about the price of gas.

That doesn't suprise me MC, Niagara is a tourist area....of course it would be more expensive.
