A Cute Little Movie About Life

I saw "Lantana" this past weekend. It's an Aussie import to the U.S. and a *great* movie about relationships. I was with a bunch of women friends and we all had different reactions to the movie. Those of us who want a little more action in our movies were impatient with it. Those of us who are content to sit still and let it all unroll with deliberation and intelligence loved it.

I saw "We Were Soldiers" tonight and was incredibly bound in up and moved by the stark reality of the events that were portrayed. I cried. I cowered. I left the movie with a crowd of other people, all of us quietly, soberly introspective. It's a very powerful movie.

You will love Amelie. It's french and has subtitles and it is an incredible film. Won film of the year in france.

Happy, now?

There you go, Catwoman, a thread by you about movies that got responses. If at first you don't succeed, try try again.

Truth be told, this one is also fluff.:p

Actually, i saw Amelie a couple months ago, before Christmas. It was fabulous. It was almost magical in its whimsicality. It crept up on me and enthralled me in her life without my permission or knowledge.

I recently saw Gosford Park, too, and thought that both Amelie and Lantana were better movies by far.
