-Sam Cooke moves back to his home town, he's been away teaching in Chicago. He's recently divorced. He's in his early thirties, his wife was of the same age.
-He gets a job teaching at his old high-school
-Patricia Smith his old teacher is now the Principal, she's just turned 50 and her husband just divorced her for a younger woman around Sam's age.
