A condom question for the ladies

I figure this as good a place to ask as any...I have a new guy, but we haven't had sex yet. However, we did talk last night about when we do (and it will happen in the near forseeable future).

I was tested a couple years ago and I'm negative for everything. I'm sure my ex was clean, too, and I haven't been with anyone but my ex since I was last tested. I am also on the pill. Still, the new guy wants to use condoms. While I respect that decision for whatever reason he feels it's necessary-even though I don't think it is-because it's his health, peace of mind, and wellbeing, too, I still fucking hate the damn things. They just don't feel right. Too artificial.

My question is, for the ladies here that use condoms regularly, what's your preference? All I've ever used with my partners are your "standard" Trojans, etc, so I don't have much experience with the different varieties. I just basically want something that actually feels like you're fucking flesh and not rubber. BTW, I don't have any allergies to latex, spermicide or lubricants, so that's not an issue...

As an avid condom user, and someone who has dealt with the reality of AIDS, I want to state my opinion that 'pretty sure' isn't sure enough. It's a matter of personal preference, I know, but IMHO it's not worth the risk to one's life to get a more 'natural' feeling.

That said, I've noticed that thin condoms are pretty good. I don't remember what company puts out 'Barebacks' but they're noticeably unnoticeable, if that makes any sense. Gold Coins are good too but get some lube because they come non-lubricated. Gold Coins are good for oral because, since they come non-lubricated, they don't taste like lube.

Shop around. You might find one you like. Trojans are popular, but as far as feeling goes, they're definitely not the best.

I could care less about the feeling as long as I know I am protected. Don't get me wrong I love sex as much as the next person, but I only know my sexual history and not theirs. I would much rather live a long happy life than catch an std that could possibly kill me. I agree with naudiz the Gold Coins are good, but make sure there is lube around.

There are two I really like: Kimono and mint flavored. Kimono has these little beads that feel wonderful without that horrible feeling a ribbed condom gives. As for mint, it leaves a tingling sensation everywhere. A warm breath afterwards is sometimes enough to get me to orgasm again

Hmm...OK. Thanks for the advice thus far. You're right, I only know my sexual history, and I completely understand where he's coming from. It's not that he doesn't trust me, he just doesn't want to die. I'm not gonna argue with that logic. BUT on the same hand, I like and am very attracted to this man, so *I* want to enjoy it too.

I might have to do some shopping around...we have a pretty limited selection here. Just various varieties of Trojan and Lifestyles.

Emerald: I applaud this man, too. We've waited to have sex, despite my willingness, because he "wants me to be sure it's what I really want". Now, how often do you hear THAT?

I'm not against his desire to practice safer sex, I just don't like condoms. I told him that, and it's no glove, no love, which I respect. I'm just looking for a happy medium.
