It hasn't been that long since I came here to the United States as a foreign exchange student. My college, École Supérieure International de Notre-Dame, essentially made travel a focus point for its students; every student had to visit at least one foreign country and by the time that you graduated, become perfectly trilingual. Admittedly, the latter wasn't an issue for me as I already learned English and Spanish from my parents; they are both business people, my father being the Vice-President of a cosmetics company and my mother being a successful financial consultant. They haven't been around all that much throughout my young life, so I was mostly raised by my rather conservative nanny, of all people. I haven't resentful towards my biological parents though, as I knew that he had to work to support us all. In fact, in a strange way, I admired them and what they did; especially upon seeing how important they both were to their workplace. It inspired me, I guess, to try to get into business like them. So, through constant studying, I believed that I was well in my way to becoming big-shots like them. Naturally, this meant that between late study sessions at the library and internships that both my mom and dad had graciously offered me, I didn't have much time for any kind of social life, which I suppose wasn't that bad. My parents, when they would visit, would reassure me that friendships from teenage years rarely last, so I wasn't missing anything grand. Still, even going through the motions, I couldn't help but feel a little lonely and even depressed - more so when the other students from my school would make me seem as if I was a snob for not wanting to talk to them. So, I was more than happy to have met Pierre. He was incredibly ambitious, perhaps even more than I, seeing as he planned on becoming a CEO one day. I couldn't help but admire that trait of his and it didn't take too long before we started dating. In fact, by the time that we both entered college, we were dating for well over a year.
It turns out that Pierre was quite the jealous type. While I wasn't miss popularity back in Paris, I still had quite my share of admirers there. There was no mistaking it, I'm quite endowed and as most men would say a ''bombshell''; naturally blonde hair which reaches to my shoulders, bright green eyes, pale soft skin, a toned body given my hours of yoga practice, long luscious legs, large 38DDD cup breasts and a firm backside - or at least, these are all the attributes that men have complimented me on throughout the years. I was actually a bit worried for Pierre as, while he was quite confrontational, he wasn't the toughest man around. Thankfully, his attitude alone could intimidate most people. He wasn't extremely possessive of me, don't get me wrong, he just knew how I didn't want any of that attention, especially seeing as I just wanted to study and nothing else. I loved him already, I think. But upon telling my parents this, they would either laugh or shake their heads before saying:
"Everyone says that when they're in their first relationship"
or
"You're only nineteen years old. You have no idea what love is; you're just infatuated. Just enjoy college."
I'd get offended with them saying infatuated, as it made it seem (at least to me) that they were implying that I was craving sexual behavior; which I wasn't. Thanks to the nanny around the house, I strongly opposed the idea of having sex before I was married. Pierre wasn't put off at this in the slightest, so I knew that he was the man for me.
Anyway, that's besides the point. Going over to what I said earlier, I eventually made it to New York city, where I'd be accommodated into student residence. The university seemed nice and the buildings were well-kept, despite it being a public college (I was initially told back in France that I was unfortunate to have not been placed into a private university). I suppose that I was lucky and ended up in simply a quaint neighborhood with good and responsible people. Although I still avoided too much popularity, I already made a few friends thanks to Pierre. So far, everything seem perfect. I did have to meet my guide today, as I was still prone to getting lost. My boyfriend unfortunately couldn't attend, so it looked like I was alone in this.
Speaking of which, I should probably log off my laptop right now. I'm supposed to meet this guide of mine in ten minutes!
