Everyone has been talking about bad feedback and I have had some myself, but what about the good feedback you get? I mean the type that just makes your day and puts a smile on your face?

I received this yesterday...

"This may be the most extraordinary erotic story I have ever read. I've been reading erotica for several years now, but don't ever recall reading a story that broke my heart. You are a beautiful writer."

I would love to thank this person for making me feel incredible all day...

Smiling...The one in my sig line..."Waiting for Nicholas"...

I got 9 feedback e-mails today! That's a record for me. That collection includes this effort:

I discovered your "Writing Quality Sex Scenes" and was instantly captivated, not only at the thoroughness and excellence of your advice but by your clear, funny, and very readable style. I searched out a few of your stories and I think you may well be the best writer I have found on this site.

That one made me flush with pride. It's not true, but I'm truly touched that someone considers me to be.

Dear CJ,
I hope your characters had better luck waiting for Nicholas than those people did who waited for Godot.

Very compelling writing, Chicklet!

Chicklet,

I'm impressed. As one of the folks who looked over the earlier version of this story you posted on the Story Feedback forum, I know how much work you've put in on this story.

Of course, I thought that early version was pretty good, but this one has cleared up the two quibbles I had at the time. IMHO, the characters are more fully developed and the transitions are smoother.

You've done did good, kid. Congratulations.

This is a superb story Chicklet.

These are the good feedback comments that have meant most to me = ) (I only posted the ones that're already up in the threads - people that Pm'd me their comments meant just as much, and the ones that I didn't mention meant a whole helluvalot too...these are just the ones I thought I'd bring up)

Damn, but that was a nice "warm fuzzy." Congratulations to you, and to Earl as well. Two positive feedbacks in the same calendar year. There must be some benign, genic mutation running rampant among Lit readers.

ps: Earl, did you get a PM from me with the new, R-rated, ending to my story "Love on the Levee?" It was dedicated to you. RF

This really is not easy to do, post positive feedback, but I appreciate the thoughtfulness and creativity of these. The first two are for poems. - Perdita

About the submission: Brunnhilde's Farewell
Holy jimmole!! And Wowser's too! From the Rings of the Nibelung, to Casablanca, and back again, and never mind the in-betweens (*blush*??) Mercy! Very strong writing, and compellingly captivating (shivers). Marvelous writing. Where have you spent your time doing all the wonderful things that you must have done to write like this, and why do you grace this pallid board with your presence (but never mind, stay here anyway. Rhetorical question, and no answer expected, just a part of being transported by your writing, and assuming your persona, then wondering who I am in as such.)? Thank you for gracing us,

About the submission: Les Amants
Well, at least now I don't have to see the movie/play. But I wonder if it could be half as entertaining as your writing of it. Also, would I find you as part of the staging, or as the director (thank the gods for dictionaries, French or otherwise). Thanks for enlightening, entertaining, and making Sunday morn enjoyable. Now I don't have to go outside either.

About the submission: Elevator Girl—3: Two absolutely beautiful representations of sensuality. And to make it worse, you make me want to listen again to Tristan and Isolde, a piece I had never really liked. Ahh, I'm being controlled, led, and it's beautiful. Thank you.

I rarely get feedback emails. Ironic that this thread popped up today because I actually got one today:D

I LOVE your work!!
Thank you for your writings

Thanks again AW...

After a couple of glasses of home-made wine, I think my natural inhibitions are breaking down, but my own personal 'warm fuzzy' vote goes to the reader who said -

"There are several authors of erotic fiction whose writing I seem to always enjoy. You are among them. Your storytelling qualities are on a par with the best I've read, and seeing a new story from you is, as the cliche goes, like a visit from an old friend."

I was on a high for weeks after that one. Of course I was rapidly brought back to earth after another feedback saying simply "Your story sucks". Not the same story, however...

Ah well, can't win 'em all.
