Bearing the names of two famous poets, it seems Blake Whitman was pre-destined to become a Professor of English at the University. It has been 12 years now since he got his first Assistant Professor position right out of grad school. Now at 43 he was hoping to make Full Professor with Tenure soon. He got married right out of grad school but that only lasted 3 years. Since then he concentrated on his career, and has had a few relationships but he never felt inclined to get serious. Not that he wasn't attractive enough, at 5'10" and 170 pounds, he was fit but not athletic and his salt and pepper hair and bright blue eyes were pleasing. He could be quite witty and charming and his female students often seemed to be flirting with him but he figured that was just so they would get a better grade. Not to mention that it was totally not allowed for professors to have "personal" relationships with students.
