Father told daughter when she turned 18 & was allowed to take a turn starting the bakery ovens at 4 a.m. never to unlock the door for anyone until he was there. "You don't vant to end up mit a bun in dewr wrong oven" he warns.
Being naive, she has no clue what he means, but says "Yes, Pappa."
then one morning it is 40 below, and she notices a young man in the lane behind the kitchen about 5 a.m. He knocks on the door. She is curious. he tells her he lives upstairs, and just took a bus home from working a late shift, but his lock is frozen and he broke off his key. He called a locksmith, but they won't make it there for an hour.
Disregarding Pappa's warning, she lets the young man in...
