A Bat Trap - Closed for ChaseMePleez & Carnor_Jax
Known to the city as the Black Orchid, Danielle York had been the best thief since Catwoman's demise. While working at Wayne Enterprises she had come up with a wealth of information about who was leaving for holidays in Aspen and leaving their homes unguarded. The job had become her ticket to wealth beyond her wildest dreams and tonight was different.
Her snuitty fruity boss Bruce Wayne was hosting an exhibition, a perfect distraction for her to pick up a few million in artwork. Her long black hair pulled back in a tight braid, Dani slipped into the massive home through a window near the rear entrance where the staff were coming in and out. She was dressed in a semi-formal black suit, Dani looked as if she belonged there.
She brought up the blueprints for the house on her handheld computer. The area where the art was being stored was clearly marked. Dani had to duck to avoid a few guards but managed to make her way to the small room. Once inside she was oddly curious as to why they chose what looked like an old bedroom to store expensive works of art.
Dani shrugged to herself. These rich guys were known for being eccentric. Maybe this was Bruce's idea in the first place. She had yet to really meet him and didn't really know how smart he could possibly be. She quickly assessed which paintings were worth the risk for their value. One in particular was too good to pass up. It had been commissioned by the mayor when Batman had first come on the scene.
It was called 'Bat in the Night'. Dani smiled and went to pick it up, not feeling the wire attached to frame snap. It set off a series of gears and the door to the room snapped shut. Dani jumped and gasped. "Damn it. I should have seen this coming." Through the shadows she recognized the familiar shape of the caped crusader that she had been playing a game of cat and mouse with since her arrival in Gotham.
