and those might have been at least semi-solicited. Is this a normal ratio for an old story? Meanwhile, part 2 has gotten almost no new reads, and 0 votes. Scores are >4.6, so they can't be that bad. Is it something I said somewhere?

I often find if I've posted a new one, my older ones start to collect reads.

Maybe there's been a change in the type of traffic, something to do with late winter. People are staying in and reading rather than going out. I'm thinking this because some of my older stories have been collecting reads and votes recently.

Those seem pretty low in my experience, but I write in Lesbian and MC, both of which have a pretty loyal following.

My latest has been up about 3 weeks and is at about 25k views and 150 votes, in Lesbian. It's running about 4.75 which puts it on the toplist page which may help the number of views.

Which catagory did you post in? Tha may have a lot to do with it.

Cat has a lot to do with it. Also length. Remember a view isn't the same as someone reading the story. If it;s a long one like your novella, the one reader may open it several times before he/seh finishes. A lot of others may open it, scan it, decide it's too long or isn't whatthey wanted and back click. So you might see a lot of views, with fewer votes on a long work.

As Colly said, catagory has a lot to do with it. Lez and MC have very high view rates, as does incest and a couple of others.

Looking at the age of your stories (except the L/T), i would have thought they are reasonable long term averages. You're scoring I vote per 425 'hits' across a range of catagories. L/T I would expect to show a much lower vote and 'hit' rate.

My figures are bottom left in my sig line - they come at 1 per 300 (10 stories - 8 Catagories) but all posted in the last year. The long term rate slows to 1 per 450 ish.

One of my stories has 30 positive, as in I liked it, feedback emails, but only 19 votes, go figure... I figured it as non registered readers who don't appreciate how important it is to vote as well as say I liked it, or I didn't like it.
