80's Rewind

Where I am they have a weekly program called "The Hair Club"
Playing all the big hair music from the eighties.
Some good memories from back then. (sigh)

The 80s was a pretty weak decade compared to the 60s, 70s, and 90s....and the oughts have already gotten out to a good start in terms of world significance and cultural change....

I think the 80's did alright for itself. There was a lot of musical innovation during the time... stuff that we laugh at now, but heavily influenced a lot of the music we've had since in all genre's.

It's all 80's dance music. I need some Def Leppard or Bon Jovi...love that stuff.

I love 80's music, everything from the synth, pop, hair bands, metal, new wave.

All the 80's stations here gave up the ghost, so I am slowly collecting mp3's of all my old favorites.

Great memories, all.

Oh yeah musically...I was taking a moment to compare the 80s to other decades on a global scale in terms of importance...I think other recent eras were greater...

But musically it was cool...

The 80's were an "opposite end of the pendulum" decade. We went from the free love, socialist ideals of the late sixties through mid 70's, to the "me" generation of the new capitalist, the aids scare, yuppies, etc. The 90's saw the pendulum settle more in the middle.

Think I saw Bon Jovi 3 times and I saw Def 5 times.

Last week there was a concert nearby... had Winger, Cinderella, and Poison performing. More of the bands still around today.

I am sooooo incredibly jealous now.

Pat Benetar was just here in the last couple of weeks.

I saw Bon Jovi three times as well, once from the front row... great show.

The best 80's band in my book however has to be Queensryche.

I have one or two of her cds around here too.

Managed too see Cindy Lauper too... I was about three feet away from her.

Also saw, Motley Crue, Whitesnake, Tesla and even I must admit Madonna back in the 80's

I still love the music. Get's my mood lifted every time.

Gotta love 80s music, I don't think they play it here much *sigh* I miss home

*Pump up the Volume*

*Brothers and Sisters*

::wiggling in my chair::

The beat is almost primal...mmmmmmmmm

This is the type of song that I want to grind with someone with...

ties up tied down
up against the wall
be my rubbermade baby
and we can do it all

my way your way
anything goes tonight

Gotta love Guns'n'Roses!

You'd probably have a flash back blast looking through my cds and tapes from back then.
