I am so completely spacing on Adam Ant lyrics right now....

Don't drink don't smoke - what do you do?
Don't drink don't smoke - what do you do?
Subtle innuendos follow
There must be something inside

Goody two, goody two, goody goody two shoes...

I always loved the crash of the anvil at the nightclub school (Visage).

N-o-o-o-o-o-o-o-o,

We wont go back to the eighties. Please don't make meeeeeeee. (I had way too much fun and can remember with great fondness driving along the Autobahn at 100+ with a tall redhead and listening to David Bowie on the car stereo. {What was that song? Little China Girl?} Not to mention all of the other great, and not so great times I had during the eighties. A great formative time for me. I'm surprised I survived it. )

Cat

*puts SeaCat into a headlock*

Yes, we will go back. But remember, you don't have to stay if you don't want to ...

"Ashes to ashes…"

"Well, my baby and me went out last Saturday night"

"Eyes without a face"

And I remember a music video with the Plasmatics and Wendy O. Williams getting herself off on the motor of a chainsaw while her tank top falls off.

'Scuse me. Have to go do something now.

I went thru so much in the eighties....

Looks? Adam & the Antz, Stray Cats, a foray into Glam Metal and then a phase where I wore lots and lots of black...

Music often but not always matching the look...

music sparks memories of people, and the thought of the people takes me back....

I would love you forever if you could PM me the track lists for those songs. I love 80's music so I'd definitely get into that.

However, I was born in 1986, so I didn't get to enjoy the 80's as much as I would have liked to. I blame my parents for this, but my mother got pregnant at 18 and still couldn't take care of me so I don't think I'd wish for her to get pregnant any sooner.

I'll do it later today, when I'm not feeling quite so much like a truck ran over me. :)

It's a nice day for a...white wedding...

Is it really bad that I was teaching my kids and my nephew the lyrics to Rebel Yell the other day?

In the midnight hour she cried "More More More"
With a rebel yell she cried "More More More"
In the midnight hour babe "More More More"
With a rebel yell she cried "More, More, More"

Bad? Maybe. Depends on whether they understood why she yelling for More More More!

I just heard OMD's "If You Leave" on the radio and it totally sent me back to college parties and the whole Molly Ringwald era. Good times.

What sends you into the past?

Everything. The present is too fleeting to account for. :) :rose:

Yeah, I don't think they understood that part. And I certainly didn't explain it!

Ephemeral and teasing
is a future yet unreal.
Elusive and so fleeting
is the present's fading feel.
Tangible and pleasing
is the past's direct appeal.
Grab each moment that's worth seizing;
hold it with a jealous zeal.

Everytime I touch my left ear I remember the 80's. Safety-Pins don't go through flesh very well... or maybe I was just a wimp. Anyway.... it never fully healed.

Let's see. Yellow plastic miniskirts. Baby Doll socks with high heels. Obnoxiously ruffly shirts all worn together.
They do if you do it right. Wimp.

God I love the 80's.

god, but reading this thread takes me back!

i routinely listen to dexy's midnight runners, OMD, the fixx, alphaville, adam ant...hey, anybody else remember the stray cats?
