The VA already sends veterans from several states (Alaska, Hawaii, New Hampshire, Montana, North Dakota, South Dakota, Wyoming) to private HC providers and has done so since 2018, They also provide private HC if you live more than 40 miles away from a full service treatment center.

This might have been of particular interest to your former userids, you can seek out private mental health care if the VA cannot see you within a 20-day time frame....that is, if you were actually a veteran, which we are now being told you're not, of course.

He generally spends his time around here criticizing others for seeking government healthcare and accepting government benefits. He created his latest userid and now declares he has NEVAR served in the military, largely because he is miraculously able to work part-time now but cannot admit to being 100% disabled any longer because to do so would establish a written trail of medical disability fraud.

thank you both! There are a lot of us vets around, and i am proud of all of them and proud to be numbered with them. I also want to thank the spouses. It was tough for us, no doubt, but the wives get overlooked. Taking care of EVERYTHING alone (or feeling that way), and not know what was going on with us down range.
I didnt mean to get all political or mushy with my post, but i did want to provide a different point of view on the va. I have heard the horror stories of the va, and was a little worried to go. Thankfully, i have only had good experiences. And to the vets that dont get the care they are deserving, bump things up the va COC. Dont settle for sub par.
