Hey i'm hoping that either laurel or manu read this thread and I can at least get an answer. I posted a story 8 days ago for approval but I have heard nothing. I sent pm's to both laurel and manu and have received no response from either. I was wondering if there is some reason why no movement on this story. I have a second chapter finished in a different series but I don't want to post till I get the first one up.

What does it say next to your entry on your personal submissions page in "View" mode? Does it say "pending" (in which case it's hung up and you're doing all you can in PMing Laurel about it) or does it say "rejected" (which would explain the eight days without posting. If it says "rejected," click on that and there will be a terse reason, in the form of a question, why it was rejected)?

Also, if the link says "pending" and you click it, I believe it sends your story to the back of the queue of stories waiting for approval, which would make the waiting time longer.

Gay authors get reviewed first at LIT. Let Laurel know youre gay or wanna be.

Which, of course, isn't true. (It shouldn't take you long to catch on to JameBJohnson.)

Actually, clicking pending does nothing except bring up the preview of the story again. It's if you then click submit at the end of the preview that resets it's place in the queue.

So if you click pending, just back out of the preview. There is no requirement that you re-submit it again.

Just hit the backspace key.

pending

It reads pending....I know about the differences because been rejected a few times on different stories. Always with an explanation for why which allows me to correct and resubmit. I just wish I could hear something because like I mentioned I have a second chapter in a different series ready to post but don't want to do it before this one gets resolved.

And how were we supposed to know you knew this? Through osmosis? You asked for help and we're trying to give it.

Thanks. I wasn't sure, so it's good to know.

So if you're not clicking on Pending, or clicking on Resubmit when viewing it after clicking pending, you should probably send a PM to Laurel. I've found the best way to get a reply is to be clear about what you want -- provide the title, the problem, and ask your question.

No offense

Did not mean to sound ungrateful but I thought it read clearly in my first post that this wasn't my first posting, I mentioned the second chapter in a different series. So I'm sorry if you took offense and I appreciate any help that's offered.
I have sent pm's to both laurel and Manu and have gotten no answer. This seems strange too because laurel has always been quick to answer any pm I have sent.i don't want to be a pain and keep sending pm's either so I was one of them might notice this thread.

Laurel has said that sometimes she searches her name and checks out the forums, but she doesn't regularly visit them.

It could be something simple -- she could not be feeling well, or something like that.
