it's been raining almost non-stop here since Friday evening. as of 4:00 yesterday, the last time i emptied my rain gauge, we had received 8 1/2". it has not quit since then and shows no sign of quitting now. forecast is for rain thru thursday. i live in an area of texas that is just full of beautiful rivers that are now not so beautiful. san antonio, about 45 minutes away is suffering from severe flooding.

fire and rescue teams are working non-stop doing high water rescues on people that think their cars are boats. all of the shelters are full.

last week we were nearing 100 degree temperatures and were in a severe draught. ain't mother nature a funny, fickle lady?

She can be a mean bitch.

I'm still cutting down trees killed by the ice-storm...

The boat he has. But some of the wooden animals have wandered off...

Hey Unclej send some up this way. We have been getting rain but not that much. :)

It's rained for the past 4 days here in the DFW area as well UJ. Not near as bad as down there, hope you keep your head above water. Oh and be sure to add me to that boat!:D

fortunately my little part of heaven is up on a hill. i'm very close to one of the rivers tht's in flood stage but it is probably 50 to 60 feet below my elevation.

now marks girl, if i include you what do we do with #1tc? oh wait, somebody's got to take care of the sheep.:D

#1TC is battle ready and can meet us on high ground with the sheep!:D

In the middle of ALL that heat covering middle America is one cool bubble of air that has been sitting over us.

This morning, it feels like the bubble has burst...

its been raining and raining here in austin too...i have family in san antonio and they cant leave the city to come see me because parts of the freeways are under water.

Re: It's been raining almost every day in Houston too!

But not to flood proportions.

How do the rivers look for tubing and rafting now? They were way down when I was there about 3 weeks ago. I'm hoping for a tubing trip on the Comal or Guadalupe river sometime in the next month!

they're looking wild...someone drowned in barton creek the other day

ya tease...i flashed to a visual of that unidentified white thang hanging from your underside (it's your penis goshdogit) swelling to 8.5...boingggg....

Over here in what i guess you would call deep east texas we get our daily thunderstorm which is anywhere from a trace to a couple of inches depending on where your located.

I'm not fooled, I know it will stop suddenly until god knows when.
