A man faces 75 years in prison for recording police officers.

This is a sentence that is equal or greater than what is given to some rapists, murderers, gang members, and violent/dangerous people who are truly a danger to society and deserve to be locked up for life.

What is wrong with the criminal justice system?

Isn't there something in the US constitution which says that the sentence has to fit the crime and outlaws cruel and unusual punishment?

The Constitution never strictly applies, Mike...

...when those who've sworn to uphold it, lied.

The natural essence of anarchy more rules the higher a politico rises, as she gains that much more bureaucratic individual freedom over all those her position has lifted her above and, correspondingly of course in the movement of that rise, the more dictating power she enjoys to lord over more and more others...

...that "constitutional" stuff, today, is merely to keep the lemmings in a manageable herd.

we live in a police state, its wise to NEVER trust the cops!

It's extremely difficult to justify a 75 year long prison sentence for recording on-duty police officers.

This kind of sentence is very rarely handed down and when it is, it's usually just for rapists and murderers.

At most, all this guy deserved is 5 years max with a high chance of parole.

Something is seriously wrong with the criminal justice system in the United States.

Also, see this.
